Poor character customisation?

I think I'm one of many who can honestly say the character creation in GTAO is pretty awful, they genuinely look like burn victims.

 

I would like to see some change to this in the future, definitely.

Don't even give me that. The characters ALL look the same. You get the Beetlejuice headed guy or John marston.

 

They REALLY need to rethink this feature and added more sliders on appearance.

I've had to create mine 3 times now, each time I've said "I don't wanna create this ugly ass nigga again". This sucks haha.

Started the game, and this dude has 99 bruises on his face.. Like wtf?

 

Looks like he flew to LS on the landing gear.

They do look rather bad, it reminds me of Fallout 3. I just did random until I got one that I thought looked okay, and then customized him.

I don't like how the default is made off your lifestyle activities. I had to fiddle around with the sliders for ages to get a default guy that had the hat I wanted. I mean I know you'll be able to buy all this stuff in stores when we get on, but still. I agree with OP, needed face sliders here, they all look the same.

the bruises and scars come from your lifetime choices.. if you have any in criminal you get bruises/scars

The "activities you spend time doing" when creating your character effect your characters appearance. The more time you spend "Doing illegal work" the more scarred and ugly you character will look. The more time you spend working out the younger you will look for your age. Its not super alterable and not super intuitive but you definitely can have a reasonable effect on your appearance as long as your willing to sacrifice your initial stats.

Also your activity choices effect your initial clothing.

Fallout had a much better customization.

 

I'd love to defend R* with this, but hell no. Everyone looks the same. The facial hair is all the same, and looks penciled on. You can either look like a f*cking Beetlejuice wannabe, or too much of a pretty boy.

 

It's just bad. At least there's a weight adjustment thing, somewhat in the stats. Like, no f*cking Mohawk even? No beards? Come on.

its not user friendly for sure.. but there are ways to make it look like you want. You have to experiment with it to understand how it works.
