Title says it all.

And before the flaming starts with be patent, Rockstar have had this 2 weeks now.
They know the sheer volume of people playing this game. They had more than enough time to prep for it.

Just the same as there Social Club that still has issues. Bad release, bad organisation and bad prediction on the number of online players.

This is one of the biggest failed launches online

*sighs* you still don't get it, it doesn't matter how good the servers are, or how good rock star preped for it, it does not matter the sheer amount connecting at once doesn't help the matter, even if they allowed a couple of people in at a time you'd still see problems, all game online launches like MMO'S etc have these problems, and you need to learn that it can't be controlled.

I've seen the same sh*t happen with most MAJOR online games. Nothing new.. Bitching like a school girl doesn't solve anything.

Yes they've had it two weeks. They know the amount of people who bought it, that doesn't mean that many people are going to play online. Online launches always have issues, see CoD every year. Before you say "Put more servers down because they knew how many people bought it" - It doesn't work that way either. It's called bandwidth and all of us rabid players trying to get on at once have used all of it.

No that is a load of rubbish, they cannot help it.

They know the numbers of how many people paid for this game,
They know how many people are playing it.

They also know how many servers they have, how many connections each server will support.

This is badly prepared and badly organised

There are so many people trying to play right now, that it's probably the equivalent to a massive DDoS attack.

EDIT: Also there was no way for them to test how the servers would behave with so many people trying to connect and interact at once. Like I said in the other thread, today is going to be more of a server stress test than anything else.

Nothing can prepair millions coming online. Even more so since most mmo's I've played have the same problems.

Even if they have enough servers ready, if they get hit too hard and fast at once, they break. Be patient, and let them fix it. This happens with ALL multiplayer games, regardless of how prepared they are.

YOU STILL DON'T GET IT, you could have the best server in the world but if you has millions connecting at once their will be issues it does not matter how good servers are... the system is getting flooded like hell doesn't matter how good it is, you could have a super bloody computer, I just flood you with packets and cause you problems, it doesn't matter.... just learn that already so in future in new online games you wont bitch.

Jesus, are you 12 years old or something?

Have some patience kid. If you don't understand the infrastructure necessary to make this work, just sit quietly and play singleplayer or something.

Sorry but this is making me laugh how everyone here is justifying how bad the online launch is lol!

A couple of things:

BETA Testing...... Well executed.

Strategy...... Well Executed.

You are talking about a Company worth alot of money here, and they cannot get a launch working right....

People talking about servers who dont even have a the smallest idea about dedicated servers.

It just makes me laugh, But its okay i suppose if you people are happy with a Game being released and none functioning then am sure you would not mind buying a brand new car and it not working...

Anyway am not sitting here and ranting on, everyone knows this is a Epic fail and you yourself know it, But your all happy to butter up the fail for one reason or another

This is like a heavy DDOS attack on their servers, doesnt matter how many servers they have, their ISP will get flooded and they are bound to drop connections, or worst case, the ISP serer will just get too many requests and shut down, this happens at every big game launch, cant do sh*t

Here's an explanation that all you apparent networking experts should consider.

Imagine your mum's kitchen. You have a large family and your mum knows your whole family will be hungry, so you have a large kitchen filled with different food. Imagine a drawer of forks in that kitchen. Everyone needs to take a fork before they eat, so they're all grabbing for it, so many infact that only a few can actually grab a fork, let alone take it and choose their next piece of food.

Once everyone has a fork, there will be no problem and you can grab whatever food you want in the kitchen without bottlenecks.

So should your mum buy a giant kitchen for those few hours when everyone wants a fork? Or would that be a bad investment on your mum's part?

I hope that was simple enough for you to understand :)

Posts like these allow companies to be lazy and send out broken out products. What other industry is allowed this by the consumer?

No, you clearly have no idea how -servers- work, dedicated server is a word you console players are just getting used to so you start using it in every other sentence to make you sound smart. It's bandwidth, plain and simple. You know how to increase the maximum bandwidth of the internet? Wow! Take that right to Google, I'm sure you'll be employed within the hour.

As for us down here in the real world, we'll wait a few hours or a day and then go play GTAV.

Poeple fail to understand that there is such thing as technological limitations.

You cant make a floppy disk play blueray and you cant expect any server configuration to handles such a huge surge of traffic at once

Hi I'm a server admin at a multi-billion dollar company and can tell you that is indeed how the servers work. These things take time and a lot of adjustments have to be made. Sit back and calm down before you hurt yourself.

Each server in a rack taking a T1 connection, how many servers per rack, how many racks in total. Its not one bloody server people are connecting to, There will be 1000's of them all on racks. The problem is, is not enough of them. Simple and straight.

The fork example made me piss myself!!!
