CryptReaperDorian Posted October 1, 2013 Share Posted October 1, 2013 The Battlefield series died for me after Dice decided to release BF3 then f*ck it up buy releasing BF4 2 years later... Killed it. Saints row did the same bullsh*t it got them knowhere. All about that $$$$$$$. A shame really DICE has always done this. There's been a new Battlefield title or Battlefield DLC released every year since the series began. However, I do think two years is too little when you take into account how much of a mess Battlefield 3 currently is. What if Battlefield 4 is bugged to hell? Are we actually going to expect DICE to patch it in a not-so-half-assed way? Otherwise, think of this. Battlefield Vietnam is basically Battlefield 1942 with a different theme, Battlefield 2142 is basically Battlefield 2 with a different theme, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is basically an upgrade (also a downgrade in a few aspects) to Battlefield: Bad Company. Battlefield 4 is pretty much the same thing to Battlefield 3. I have a serious doubt on BF4 as how much time did they spent on development without fixing the problems of BF3. I bet BF4 will have serious problems due to the lack of time for fixing the problems including net code,clientside hit detection,etc I remember when Battlefield 3 had server-side hit detection. The game ran pretty well. It wasn't until that "Rent-A-Server" patch that DICE ditched server-side hit detection for client-side hit detection. You can really tell how bad it's gotten with semi-automatic and double-action weapons. You'd have to hit somebody three or possibly four times in the torso with a DMR or MP412 REX (they do 50 damage at close ranges) to kill them since it appears that only every other hit actually registers now. I'm also a colonel 100 like you and had played BF3 since November 2011 but I stopped playing at January 2013. How many times that goddamn thing failed on me.... Try hitting a jet and it fails 75% on you exploding and no kill, no nothing. What would help is setting a max ping to certain servers you rent. Like 150/200 ping max and the hit detection will increase big time, the lag will be less too. I bet they won't add this for consoles though so we still get Arabs joining in with 500 ping........ Who knows that BF4 may end up being problematic like Warfighter at release plus origin still sucks to me as I prefer steamThat's true, but i played the alpha version of bf4, it was great and less glitchy then bf3 beta. On the other hand you got 2.74 and never made a new account. You have potential to get better and also what works is playing with a microphone and teaming up with other good people. On the side note with a group of 4 you can end up spawn trapping the enemy team every map you join though. Gets kinda boring at times. BF4 will change this when 64 payers can be in a server and one 5 man squad wouldn't be as effective, THANK GOD. Edit edit edit.... Now when the beta is coming I'm finally reaching above 10 more people online in friendlist, lmao. It the good old days when everyone were BF3 junkies it was 20+.
