Internet usage in danger with GTAO?

I have a 40gb monthly plan and I was wondering if GTAO would be using a lot of internet.

Also, do we need a mic for GTAO? I just found out that mics can be used to rob stores. I hope it is a requirement.

Will the title update be adding the resources for GTAO to stream from instead of from a server?

the resources for GTAO are mostly already on your disk, the patch we get today will supposedly only be about 55mb, also heards mentions of some of the missions downloading from social club.

 

As for mic, I think you will lose alot of the experience playing without one, as communication will be a important part of playing gta online.

The download "Update" should be around 50MB I believe, as for data usage it's somewhat hard to say as every games has its own requirements. Taking a look online (very brief mind you) it seems to range between 20 - 50Mb per hour. (So 2.5MBph - 6.25MBph, with that you would have 6553.6 - 16384 hours worth of gameplay per month.)

 

I don't think you'll be getting through that anytime soon.

Thanks for that. What a relief. I thought I would be wasting my familys internet. Im not on it too long. Only during the nights from 11pm-3am.

No, mics are not a requirement, however, considering it takes a year for the dumb ass store clerk to empty out the cash register, yeah, I'd say a mic would be useful. If you can get passed the fact that 15 other players are listening to you swear or yell, go ahead, but I don't feel like being an asshole.

You can shoot around the clerks head to speed him up, but I haven't yelled at AI into my mic yet.

Well give it a go in the morning.

 

There is a rally mode where you need a mic as you have driver and co driver, the driver can't see destination or checkpoints so the co driver has to direct him.

It's hella fun but if I get stuck in this mode with a no mic player I'll be annoyed.

So get yourself a mic.
