Meh, I haven't played on my PS3 for months, I find it really tricky to aim in SP, I always overshoot the target and spray all over the place.

Really really disappointed that there aren't more interiors in the mp version. Actually not that excited now. That means there's what, like 10 stores to rob?

 

 

can you rob all the stores or are you just limited to the gas stations and corner shops like in single player ?

any of the unused locations get some love in online ? the racetrack or stadium ?

To both of the above quotes. There are the same number of convenience stores to rob I GTA Online as the SP. 19-20(I know it says 20 somewhere but I think its 19). The difference is that these stores give a bigger payout of an average total of $1000-2000 per robbery. The convenience stores show up as icons on the map now as well, so no more trying to remember where they are.

 

On the down side, robbing clothing stores and ammunation does not give the same results as in single player. If you draw a gun and walk into a clothing store, then shoot the register, there wont be a big sack of money that pops out like in single player. Instead it is just a stack of cash, like you would get after killing someone. These stacks are never more than $50 each, which means robbing a clothing store could give you $250 tops if your lucky, and it just isnt worth it anymore. I guess its a tradeoff for the convenience stores giving more money now.

 

Like I said before, Im not certain that there arent any extram interiors, since its possible that you unlock certain places at like level 90(I was only at 20), but even if there arent any more places to enter, its pretty much a given that they will be including more in the future, hopefully without charge.

 

Dunno how I feel about having to win races in order to unlock car mods, I'm sh*t at races. ;___;

Winning the races isnt as bad as it seems since you can just race your friends and they can let you win. You can host a race and only allow one other person and hope the suck. I think the max amount of race wins I saw was 16 so it shouldnt be too bad.

 

You cant turn off the police. Its just like in single player, except no cheats obviously.

 

Can i start a MP game, like "free roam" but with only me and my friends?

Since I played a beta version of GTAO I cant say this with complete confidence, but I think the answer is no. The closest thing you can do is change you GTAO options to pair you up with crew members or friends. But you cant just select three friends and play GTAO without anyone else around.

 

If they did that there would really be no point in the GTA Online universe experience since you would only be playing with 3 or 4 people.

 

But in regards to the last two quotes, I dont think it is a completely far fetched thing to hope for an eventual update that allowed people to created private sessions of GTAO, where they can invite only who they want, toggle options like free aim, police, and even cheats maybe, but in these private sessions you are unable to do any "jobs" or missions, or earn any money toward you GTAO character.

 

I hope they include something like this eventually, but dont expect if off that bat. The best we can do is speak out about our desires and opinions and make a collective effort as a community to get the changes we want made... and hopefully for free

I have been playing nothing but free aim for SP. I am on 360 but you will get used to it. Complex reticule helps a bit.

To my knowledge, no. The only other option you have before unlocking the the lester option to hide your blip on the map, is to enter your safehouse or start a mission. When you do this, your blip will be gone from the map as you are technically not in the persistent GTAO anymore(if that makes sense).

 

That reminds me of another great little addition they added to the game that helps tremendously. When you hit down on the D-pad it will show all the characters in your current session. If you hit down on the d-pad twice it will extend the mini map to almost a quarter the size of the screen(transparent of course).

 

This is amazing when fleeing the police because it allows you to see where the cops are located in a larger vicinity. Something as simple as knowing which way the helicopters are coming from can really save your ass.

 

It also helps when trying to determine what other players are doing online, since pausing obviously leave your vulnerable because your not really paused.

 

On that note, when you bring on the pause menu, it changes your blip to a little flag, and even indicates your character as paused. People can still kill you, but I think it goes towards bad sport points(thats an assumption)

Don't forget the GTAO overworld is hosted on a dedicated server on behalf of rock star, not peer to peer, meaning if you could create private sessions then everyone would be filling those servers up with empty games of 2-3 players, hogging resources

Yup, you can choose to change your prefences so the game will pair you up with people in your crew and or your friends. You can also send your friends invites to play with you while they are playing SP. You cant set private instances of GTAO is what I said. You can team up with whoever you want up to 15 other players, but you cant establish that no one else is allowed to join you. So if you and 3 of your crew mates join an instance of GTAO, there will definitely be other random players there as well

Exactly. They would have to allow for p2p hosting for this to work.

I'm wondering over the radio. Are the player's radio synchronized, as in, If I get into my friends car, am I listening to the same song they are and can a passenger change the radio for everyone in the car?

I was hoping more of a simple straight forward online like GTAIV. Weapons/armor/health etc laying around waiting to be picked up like free mode, no need to rank up to get these weapons.

 

Buying houses and sh*t sounds useless to me for online, stick to SP for that or go play The Sims.

I will be honest with you, it is very annoying. It is an adjustment that I promise most people will bitch about to high heaven, but when you get used to these necessary and actually fun changes, its not bad anymore. If you dont want the whole MMO thing then just do death matches. You can do quick matches from your phone and you wont have to deal with the other stuff. Leveling up will be slow though

This was confirmed a while ago that the radio station are synced up, so you and I will be listening to the same station playing the exact same thing if we are driving together. That being said I never tested the feature so who knows if its still in.

Couldn't they just let me host my own server or something? Like in IV.

 

I can already see the problems with this, me and my friends decide we should charge at Fort Zancudo and try to hold our ground/steal a jet and some asshole decides he doesn't like us so he rams us or ruin it for us in some way, and just like that all the fun is taken away.

Where did you hear this, because it wasnt this way in the GTAO I played. To my knowledge there was no way to give another player bad sport points. The only time I saw bad sport points issued were to myself after I destroyed someones personal vehicle, and it was automated. It might end up the the final version allows for players to report eachother, but Im sure there is a way to keep it from being abused. Like I said, I didnt see that option anywhere, and I got f*cked with by other players alot lol.

Well, its possible that in the final version of GTAO there is an option like this. But once again I assume you wouldnt be able to do missions or earn money towards your character, it would be strictly free roam. You have to realize that the version myself and others have played was a controlled beta, so allowing p2p hosting like in IV would be tougher to control. The could have ommitted it from the beta. If it doesnt make it in the final version of GTAO Im sure we could convince rockstar to reach a compromise as alot of fans want this.

Yes, you can delete characters. I didnt count how many characters you could create but it was at least four, maybe even 6-10.

I'm sorry guys but this is GTA Online. Not GTA V multiplayer. This is where R* is taking the game and we should accept it. It's going to be as they said and we should do our best to help improve the game and not to try and "bring it down".

 

It is what it is think of it as a MMO. I know some people like it and some don't but i hope that in the long run everybody will embrace it. Let's face it, in WoW you don't see people complaining that they want to be alone with their buddies in the game world .

Oh I see, I mis understood your last post about this. Im not sure that this is the case. You might not get bad sport points at all when someone is paused and you kill them. It might just hold the purpose of telling you when other players are paused. Or it might be a scenario where if you kill a player who is paused repeatidly within a certain timefram you get the bad sport points.

 

The most likely scenario is that nothing happens and its just there to tell you that the player is paused. But on the other side it would suck to announce to the rest of the players when you are completely vulnerable. So Im not sure really..

This. Ever since the words "Living breathing city" were muttered as a description for GTA IV, Rockstar has been striving to achieve the ultimate sense that the city is alive. Well this is the biggest step in that direction, because the city literally is alive, since you arent the only human inhabitant anymore and you will have to find a way to live along side other people. A private mode would be nice for just freeroam, but GTAO needs to put you with others, like it or not.
