Just got back from my trip to New York to play GTA Online at Rockstar's event. Only a few hours until it is released but instead of writing an article on it I figured I would just answer your last minute questions before its launched.

What is the actual initial, first-time customization like? When you select your parent and such?

 

I realize there is a slider involved with how much you want your character to look like your parent. But that's about all I know about the initial customization. Not including haircuts, tattoos and clothing you can just buy in-game.

 

If information on this was already released, kindly confirm that this is the case and I'll go look for it myself.

From what I can tell it seems like customization options are more in depth then SP. More haircuts, more tattoos, and even jewelry and makeup.

 

You unlock these items as you level up though, so no idea how many exactly there are. And I dont recall any specific hair do's

You choose your parents' ethnicity as well as your grandparents ethnicity. You adjust the slider to determine who's traits your character with take more of, your mom or your dad. You also do this for your grandparents. Adjust how your parents look but he slider between your grandparents, and adjust the way your character looks by the slider between your parents.

 

Then you have to allot the time that you character spends throughout the day. You have to have a minimum of 4(I think) hours of sleep, you can give the rest of the hours of the day to other activities like driving, hanging out, sports. I dont remember the exact elements but the affect your stats, as well as your look slightly. I gave my character only 4 hours sleep and he ended up with rings under his eyes. I maxed out his time spent during crime activities and he became dodgier looking

ewww thats f*ckin genius, now we can actually do what druggies and crackheads do, and it will actually make our players look like junkys, now we will know all the fiends online, they will be all junked out looking, f*ckIN GENIUS!!! and dope as FUGGGG

My character had a spiky hair cut but it was like messy spiky so Im not sure what you are looking for exactly.

 

I dont know if there are trucker missions but I doubt it. Maybe unlockable later on, but not there when I played

 

I dont think pool is in. Darts is in though And Parachuting "jobs"

 

My opinion is that it is really ambitious but will require some getting use to. You cant just steal anyone car. The police will be all over you unless you respray the cars you steal, so no more grabbing the first car you see and stealing it.

 

The good news is once you purchase a garage, or safehouse with a garage, you can make cars that arent "premium" vehicles, your own by simply storing them in your garage. You have a mechanic that you pay who fits it with a tracking device and will deliver it to you via phone call. The delivery is surprisingly fast, much faster than calling a taxi in SP.

I dont think the casino is accessible, but it might be something you unlock when you are at a much higher level.

 

No idea on pc version. only 16 players for now but let me say this. 16 players feels like alot in Los Santos. Anything more would be WAY too much in my opinion. Would probably look like armageddon. 16 players works very nice in GTA Online because it keeps the world around you interesting without making you caustraphobic

To put an end to the all the theory's about online. Did you notice more interiors that were unlocked compared to single player? People keep theory crafting that there is going to be all these unlocked interiors online. So apart from the confirmed safe houses did you notice more interiors?

Can you change an asian dude to a caucasian dude or recreate your character from scratch?

What I meant about spiky hair is, like mine in the profile picture. Not exactly like that. But spiked in the front, crazy in the back a bit.

Also, how about the facial hair?

I didnt see any extra interiors other than the safe houses. I have a feeling they are going to add interiors with time as part of new missions and features. But right now its the same as GTA SP

 

You cant change your characters race or physical appearance after you make him/her, but you can have multiple GTAO characters that you play with. There are several slots and when you load up a slot that character will be your default GTAO character. You can change it by going to the online option in the pause menu

 

Facial hair seems to have more options much like the other customization features. The character models arent too pretty tbh though. They can look kind of lifeless and dead when comparing them to Franklin, Michael, and Trevor. But its not horrid
