Help on "Father/Son" 100%

I am having trouble trying to get 100% completion on "Father/Son". I can't seem to catch Jimmy in the 10 seconds or less required for completion. The Best I've gotten is 12 seconds.

 

I have seen some 100% completion videos online and I have a feeling it may not be me but the game. The videos I've seen has the player catching Jimmy within a couple of seconds of the game prompting the player to catch him and a yellow ring below him. This is how long it takes me to catch him and not before the game prompts me to. After they finish the Mission it will show them as only taking 2 seconds to catch him.

 

Before I watched these videos I thought you had 10 seconds from the time the boom swings out and not when the game prompts you to which is usually 10 seconds after.

 

I wonder, is my game bugged in the sense that even though I catch Jimmy within a second or two of the game prompting me to catch him. Just like the players on the videos I referenced. The game will still show as if it took me more than 10 seconds to do so, or do I have to catch him immediately after the boom swings out.

 

Any help or insight to my problem will be much appreciated.
