Ah, these guys did the off-hands preview of GTA Online along with the exclusive interview with Lezlie The Benz. Well, I mean it was CVG, not necessarily all of the guys here who did the hands-on preview.

I probably missed some stuff, but I have a friend who's working and I was compiling notes for him:

 

 

 

- First missions are tutorial missions

- free car, gun and garage as you progress

- Met your LS (Lamar) contact on LifeInvader

- Simeon issues car alerts for all players in game world. Everyone tries to steal car and then stop thief from delivering the car

- Import/Export Garage is back - Simeon again

- Cars can be equipped with a tracker as an anti-theft measure

- Cars can be equipped with self-detonation on theft and can also be equipped with a remote bomb to blow away thief from a distance.

- GTAO players can call friends who are playing single-player (also your friends are contacts on phone)

- Time maybe real-time 24hr (?)

- Body type, eyes etc.. are based on ancestry

- Lifestyle choice dictates starting appearance

- When your toon is created it will appear as the fourth character on the character wheel.

- Buying clothes is a mission.

- First missions recap single player mechanics

- More enter-able shops

- Store owners may be packing heat

- First contact is drug dealer named

- Missions dispensed by Trevor, maybe the other characters?

- Something called JP (Job Points?) in addition to Reputation Points (XP)

- If you play playlists that generate cash for you, you'll need to carry it to a bank machine in free roam

- Jets VS Dirtbike 8 v 8

- you can spectate other players in game modes

- Bet on other players in game modes

- some Game modes are decided randomly to allow for weaknesses and strengths, you'll get a race where maybe you're a good driver but the next game might be deathmatch and you're shooting sucks cuz you're a driver.

- Stolen player cars can't be customized

- Stolen cars are always stolen, drive by a cop and you'll get wanted

- Other users can be viewed on map in free roam

- Bounties for griefers

- Passive mode costs $$$ and you can only drive

- cash incentives for good behaviour

It is all starting to piece together why this game cost so much money to make, single player had 69 missions,. and online mode has 700! f*cking amazing!!
