The fact you can select four grandperants (2 each)

 

I'll make him my first set of grandperants and then decend from there.

ending with Johnny Klebitz (if he's a perant option) being my father

to make the headcanon of John being Johnny's ancestor canon for me.

I'm confused about it being a "Social club feature". Don't you have to use Social Club for GTAO anyway?

The servers run on the Social Club servers. BUT if you're a member of social club, you get these extra features. Sign up quick man :p

The Character Creation System

  • The hereditary-based character creation system of Grand Theft Auto Online allows for a multitude of options to create your avatar that will then inhabit the online world of Los Santos & Blaine County. Choose your gender then decide on your mother and father. From there, you can choose to give one parent genetic dominance or leave them more evenly matched. The choice is yours. Next, you adjust a set of lifestyle variables which help determine your character’s appearance and starting stats. Decide how much sleep he/she gets, how much partying they indulge in, how much honest work versus illegal activity, and more. Essentially, you can adjust the genetics to wind up with a fresh faced lad or lass or a grizzled, haggard degenerate or anywhere in between! You’ll also be able to preview your end result in real time all throughout to ensure you’re satisfied before putting your character on a direct flight to LS. Of course, once you’re out and about in the open world, you can further customize your character with haircuts, clothing and accessories to suit your tastes.

Exactly, The only place I've seen people talk about grandparents is on this forum. I don't know how reliable that is.

Nah. Social Club's just there to make things much more simplier and sharing easier. and to give you extra goodies of course :p

Why are people saying Grandparents? Lol was this some "rumour" that was "confirmed" weeks ago by a "friend" of a "friend" of a "friend"? Looks to me like we only choose our Mother/father.

the link provided above doesn't mention grandparents anymore, only parents......and the people who had last weeks previews were saying that the older build they were playing you picked grandparents, but didn't mention parents. - waiting until I'm in the game to make my decisions - niko and misty are going to be used for sure - if there's grandparents options, I might include john as well.

1) He's one of my favorite characters, and 2)Luckily, he's got some features that I'd like on my character, so that matches up well. (Nose, jaw/chin)

I'm hoping to make someone who's lean in body and face, who doesn't look like they'd be a criminal, but when he pulls a gun out, you're like, "Oh crap, how'd I not see it before?!"
I hope 'Hitman' is an option for character background. That alone would make me ecstatic, on top of having features of Marston.

from my memory - when I first started following the news on online, they first had talked about both parents and grandparents in news articles - then the people that got to play an old build for the pre-view only talked about grandparents - now this news release is saying parents. it's possible that they figured out their system of customization had enough variants with only 2 parents, and streamlined it.
