Release Time (And False Information)

Right guys, there has been alot of mis-informed information posted on here in the past couple of hours.

 

Many people are speculating things and then others are correcting people with incorrect information.

 

Now, we all want GTA Online and we all want it a week ago but a few points people are missing.

 

  • Rockstar are NOT in control of when it goes online. Why? A patch is required for the game to be updated. Patches on the Xbox360 can ONLY be released by Microsoft. The developer sends the patch to Microsoft, they test it and then MICROSOFT upload it to the servers for us guys to download
  • Xbox Live dashboard updates AROUND 11am - 2pm EVERY Tuesday! So it won't be at midnight for the US or UK. It is more likely to be between 10am - 2pm GMT (I cannot convert that for everybody)
  • And to whichever numpty claimed GMT to be the "least important time zone", every time zone is worked out from GMT. Making GMT the most IMPORTANT time zone.
  • On top of that, everyone keeps referring to US times as that is where Rockstar is from (Apparently). The game was actually developed by Rockstar North in Scotland)

QA (on both Microsoft's and Sony's end) would have finished a week ago, at the *very* latest. Patches aren't on a schedule like store content.

Really? Yet these HUGE franchises that want to bring MMO's to Xbox360 cannot because Microsoft WILL NOT allow cost-free updates? Microsoft is all about money.

 

When it comes to updates, games and schedules, Microsoft has developers by the genitals...

i'm sorry, are you an idiot or an idiot? if there isnt a patch then the online tab in the menu will have the same message 'gta online is not available' or something like that forever.. it's like a game without a start button and saying all they need to do is update the server and not allow the player to download the patch that PATCHES the start button onto the actual game.

Okay, I just sent them a text and they responded rather quickly and said "No, if you do that you'd have to wait two extra years" sorry this all too much. :(

"We’ve received many questions asking for a specific confirmation of what exact time GTA Online will be available but of course this is contingent on both Title Updates becoming available on each console’s network."
