Even if it's as "simple" as something as sitting down. I really hope the coders at Rockstar were smart and left things open for future features. The masses would have to demand this feature, though. I am pro bench sitting. I'm also pro cigarette smoking for protags with pedestrian dialogue to go along with it. "Hey, you asshole! Go blow that sh*t somewhere else!" Michael: "Go F yourself." If I'm going to leave the room for a minute or two, I would prefer to have my character sit down, rather than just have him stand there getting all fidgety, looking at his shoes and flapping his arms around. How about sitting on the hood of a car like Michael does in the art? or sitting on a tank? or on the turret like Donald Sutherland in Kelly's Heroes? maybe down on the d-pad? gunziness Posted January 29, 2014 Share Posted January 29, 2014 While I understand the feature might sound bland and/or dull, I believe it would come in handy for some people, example: if you want to use the internet from your phone, you might use a bench to sit before doing so (for cosmetic and/or roleplaying reasons basically). It just gives more options when playing, thats it, and since its already implemented in the game, i dont think it would take much effort/resources to implement it to the player (when near a chair/bench or w/e you press a button and you sit). When I was in middle school, I did the whole roleplaying/semi-realistic thing where I'd have the character sit and rest for a moment. Lugging around 200 pounds of gear would exhaust anyone after a while. In Oblivion and Fallout 3 I slept and ate regularly because it was like I was living out an awesome heroic fantasy life. Then (at the risk of sounding insulting) I grew up and kind of just stopped caring about that sort of thing. I can only remember using sit twice in New Vegas: When talking to Cass and when talking to Chief Hanlon for the first time. Cass's conversation was structured like two strangers talking in a bar the first time if you met her during the first act of the game before getting quests involving her in New Vegas proper and Chief Hanlon had another chair next to him and the visual image of the two characters having a chat while sitting down was cool. OT: You already sit down in GTA V when you watch TV, and that's just off the top of my head. There's probably other times like on certain missions and such. Hodgey you need to understand that some people like the idea of sitting down for roleplaying purposes. Champ you need to grow up and stop calling sh*t you don't like gay. /argument I understand that some people would like it for roleplaying and other purposes but the fact is that GTA isnt a roleplaying type of game. Plus i think with GTAO releasing today that R* have much more to be concerend about than wheter players should be allowed to sit on benches or not. Theirs been many times I've stopped and took in the scenery and thought '' Man, I wish my character could sit on the grass beside the river so I can take it all in while I take a huge hit from my bong '' I find myself thinking that a lot when I play this game. So what I do is stand in a certain place and roleplay I pretend the character Is sitting down having a smoke at the same time I am it's pretty cool. I also like to do this in the car while i'm listening to the radio. I don't normally roleplay but this is one thing I always do in open world games. Look for a beautiful backdrop and smoke some bongs and take it all in. Sitting would make the game world feel more real and more interactive ! I never used to understand why people wanted it either but I have come to realize it would be another way to make the world feel alive. Sitting by a lonely river would be fantastic in my eye's I feel bad when my character stands in the same place for too long because I know how much it's making his legs hurt lol I don't take it that seriously but I have thought it at times lol Edited January 30, 2014 by im_stoned Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
