Kind of odd/very annoying to not have heard any direct confirmation from rockstar regarding when Online is launching. 5 hours here in Canada until midnight, I find it weird to announce that something is releasing on the same day it releases.

No, they don't know exact time of release... But presence server (XBL-Core) updates daily at 6:00 AM Pacific Time / 9:00 AM ET, i have no idea about PSN.

I know it's stupid but that's how it works. They only know day of release.

Somebody has said it earlier it won't happen until 5:00 a.m. think about all the past DLC for the most popular titles it's always been 5-6 a.m. I am almost %100 sure it wont be available until then and i'm going off past expirences since Call Of Duty 4. I've stayed up all night wating for DLC and even when Minecraft came to the market place it always came around 5:00 a.m.

It'll be a small patch, and those aren't restricted by DLC release schedules.

Y'all serious right now. The ONLY facts we know so far are 1: GTA online is launching oct 1st and 2: it would be on xbox live and psn. Instead of bitching about time and why info wasn't released by rockstar about server times , look at it from The only possible way to know. When you put the game in and it prompts you for an update, or when the thousands of YouTube videos are out that The online is up. You will know. P.S Sony and Microsoft has workers in different departments so the whole server team and customer service has workers in shifts example 7am-3pm. 3-11pm and 11pm-7am.

3000 stores opened at midnight for the release. So i beleive anything can happen.

Why 5am? This isn't DLC, it is the opening of Rockstar's server. GTA Online was already installed with the rest of the game wasn't it? It isn't like DLC thats 1 or 2 gigs, we already have the content files,we just need them to open the servers... Like how servers go down and have maintenance, isn't it the same thing?

I'm pretty sure, the highest grossing game ever created could get an exception from Sony and Microsoft about launch times. I don't get why people are using the DLC time as their proof of release.

Well thinking about it logically, I would imagine it will be released when it turns 1st October everywhere.

 

It's 1st of Oct in the UK now. Has been for about 30 mins.

I find it funny how R* got so much money from us, yet they don't even respect us enough to give us the least bit of info.

 

Honestly, the least they could do is let people know a time estimate. But no.. they have to be all "secretive" like GTAO is Area 51. We all get our hopes way to high and speculate on what will be in the game. Then by the time it is released. everyone is disappointed because what they "thought" was going to be, isn't.

 

That could of been ENTIRELY avoided if they just gave us some information...

Don't think they will say an actually time cause the servers will just get flooded, better to go to bed and try tomorrow(uk) :)
