at 12 am EST. Rockstar told SONY/Microsoft the moment the game was released to also release Online on October 1st, at 12 am EST. Rockstar only TELLS SONY/Microsoft when to release it, and SONY/Microsoft have to oblige, unless something happens and they postpone the release until a later date.

Let me put it in simpler terms: The owner of Rockstar Games told SONY and Microsoft when to release GTA:O to the public. So, if they say it is to be released the moment it turns into October 1st, then they will do that. It's EXACTLY like the release for GTAV. Rockstar chose the date for the game to be released, therefore, they choose the date that GTA:O is released.

Uhh, every time a major dlc or update is due to come out, it is released on Tuesday around very early morning, (something around 5am GMT -5), so that is probably when it's gonna happen.

No, each update comes from SONY. Rockstar can't put things up. By your logic, every video game company who has a game on PSN would be able to put ANYTHING they wanted onto the PSN store if they chose to. Rockstar gives the files to SONY and Microsoft and they upload it to PSN.

each update has to pass a certification process and then the data will be allowed to be uploaded to the PSN or XBL, not just any company is allowed add things to the Sony or Microsoft servers they can also only add an update to GTAV and not the console store servers.

it has been said that it is all run off the rock star servers when certified it is complicated to explain.
