I think you mean restart in terms of story? I believe your online character is separate from what I have read on here. But I am trying to keep it mostly a surprise. Usually 24-48 hours later, even a week I've seen. What I'm saying is, don't bother staying up all night tonight, because I'm 99% sure it won't launch at midnight of the 1st. Also, I cant believe how many people have no idea what GTA online is. You are going to create a new character (not Sims style). You pick your parents, then genes, and some traits/hobbies and it will generate your person. Then you start with $0 and no reputation. You will work your way up the ranking system earning money and rep based on doing jobs, committing crimes, and so forth. It has nothing to do with SP. It takes place BEFORE the SP storyline and your cash will not transfer over. You will have to unlock properties, houses, etc and eventually there will be more heists but not right off the bat. I wouldn't plan on it being live until tomorrow morning likely a few hours after what they say based on previous experiences with updates. It will also probably go down a few times over the day due to server overload. Don't expect anything that crazy or playable for a few days. As others have said, that's usually around 7am US EST. Since I don't PC game, I don't have steam.
