Do we btw need to download something in order for gtao to work? If yes, how big are the files?

Or can you just switch to your online characters when it's released/installed an 20kb patch or whatever?

There's a thing called EST, which is R*'s timezone.

Rockstar north is actually based in the UK

 

Try to get 14 yo kids that had GTA V as their first GTA game, to understand that...

Youll need to download an update im pretty sure. the file shouldn't be too big tho

Sony and microsoft have had the patch for a while as a beta has been running since thursday.

GTA Online will be up running about 1 hour and 25 min.

Source? Where i am at it is 5:38pm EST. Plus r* said they do not know what time they are releasing online.

I think they will go for American Time since that's where the majority of their fan base is.

It's already been 10 hours into Oct 1st in NZ, 7 hours in Australia and a lot of other places.

 

But they're a British company, so they'll release it to their time zone, GMT. Hopefully, anyway.

Youll need to download an update im pretty sure. the file shouldn't be too big tho

 

In the CVG preview they said the download was 50 megs, so super small.

So yeah, I'm not sure if you mean that Rockstar have went by American times in the past, or if you're referring to Rockstar Games in NYC, but if you're just assuming that it'll go off at American times then you're most likely wrong, because like I said Rockstar North isn't an American company.

It goes by EST.

Jesus Christ. No it won't. It will be by whatever time your platform of choice updates. Xbox at 2 am pst (5 est)

Lel, no it won't. It can go up whenever rockstar wishes. I honestly hope its not based off of eastern time, or god forbid, pacific time, because it would be nice to play it tonight.

that 50 MB is for the beta version and they had to put blocks on content but any way it could be less than 50 MB but 50 MB sounds reasonable.

Unless we have everything the online mode entails I doubt it. We will likely need a title update to activate online. And that won't get pushed until the systems update

I don't recall having to updating the game when the store opened. There are other ways to do it that don't involve a direct update. It might be an entirely separate download.

Apparently that gta site with the countdown says 1 hour so if it's true then EST can play at 8 pm
