Im gonna be a male like i am in real life. I have never had no desire to be a female in the virtual world or in the real world.

Being a man, I tend to identify as a male, so that is what I will choose.

apparently you can only have one character and cant change it. so obviously i'd go with my actual gender which is male, even though i would've liked to have a secondary female character like i do with saints row games.

I hope you can edit your character/appearance again or at a later time, I always tend to rush character creation the first time around cause I usually want to dive in as soon as possible when a new game/online mode comes out.

This is why I find the whole character creation thing stupid. In IV I often enjoyed switched between genders and appearances because believe it of not, it changes how people view you (i.e. whether trolls decide to troll the lone female or not). I will most likely play as a male, though I'm quite unimpressed so far so I may stick to IV Multiplayer.

Yea right, you're telling me you're going to pass up GTAO just because of something with genders? Get that bullsh*t out of here, you're still going to play.

 

Someone needs to learn to read. It's a lot more than the silly character creation system that has turned me off. GTAO is incomplete. Free Roam, Deathmatch, GTA Race, and missions that almost force you to purchase a headset.

Well, I'm sure not everyone who watches anime wants to create a female character. But to venture to answer your broad assumption of a question, I think it has to do with several different anime franchises being more feminine, but not completely devoid of masculinity. In a way, I'd argue that it makes male viewers more comfortable and connected to females... at least the male viewers who are okay with not being alpha-male douchebags like some of the users on here (not referring to anyone on this thread).

 

But it's just a theory.

Apparently, according to Deffpony (who I think actually got a look at the game), you can make multiple characters, and they are sort of like save slots. Cheers to that

Lol there is nothing wrong with playing as female characters. The coolest guys iv'e met are secure with their sexuality and like wearing pink shirts etc. Doesn't mean i want to be a female or anything lol.

I'll find out when I get on GTA:O when I wake up. I most likely will play a guy. I liked playing as Franklin. His dress options were pretty cool. I'll try for a Latino build since that's what I am. I think I've seen posts about people changing their characters. If I don't like my character I guess I could change it. I hope to be happy with first character made. I struggle with the character creation process. I can never make up my mind and I mess up a lot. Some people are gifted at it.
