And I hate commenting on this sh*t because it makes me just as bad as the rest of you, but this particular topic is ridiculous. Cheats aren't necessary, for one. They don't have to be in the game in the first place. You people who actually like and use cheats, should be grateful that they even included them in the first place. They don't need to include cheats at all to sell their game, it's for the ten year old gamers who can't live without them. This is an excellent game that is part of an excellent series made by an excellent company. And if you all are going to bitch and whine because of a cheat code that only allows you to be a pussy for a limited amount of time, then I hope you trade in your copies so I don't have to meet any of you online.

For everyone complaining about the invincibility cheat being limited needs to stop. If you memorize the cheat it's very easy to type the cheat really fast before the timer runs out or you can simply pause the game and type it. It's that simple. It's not that big of a deal.

I feel lied to they said fun cheats are back? low gravity dose nothing to the high jump cheat (like San andreas)? No flying cars? every gta is worse than the last!

 

What was wrong with the style of gta4 cheats? beside leaving out all the best cheats from previous gta

I know what you mean! All the cheats from San Andreas were awesome. Well most of them. I'm not upset that the Invincibility cheat is limited because Rockstar could have easily chosen not to even put the cheat in the game. I say be happy with what you have. For some people, yeah they wish the cheat was Ininite. For me it doesn't bother me because I only use the cheat when I want to go on a rampage. Honestly Rockstar should just give the fans what they want and make the cheat Infinite and people should only use it if they really want to.

Rockstar did a good job on GTA 5 but it can always be made better and if they make a GTA 6 for the next generation consoles then it should be way better and realistic than GTA 5.

Invincibility was deactivated after a certain depth underwater. Crashed a plane to see how deep it would go. That was pretty annoying when it just shut off on me before the timer was even up.

so email rockstar from their website and let your voices be heard, I sent one to them. They can fix this.

Don't worry, when the PC version is released (according to some info it will be in first quarter of 2014 but don't quote me on that, I can't find any proof of this at the moment) on the PC there's a lot of people working on trainers, one of the best ones made for GTA4 was the Simple Trainer by Sjaak327, just hope that he will do another one for GTA5, that will make it totally awesome, and I also hope that the trainer will allow us to get online on servers where all the other players have the trainer like it works in GTA4 currently if you have the trainer, you have servers but only servers with people that have the trainer also, so that way, we aren't cheating on a legit server but a trainer enabled server where we can have fun and cause massive havoc as we wish to play...

Do you really think Rockstar would waste tons of money on a PC version. Use common sense it would cost more to release a PC version then it would make them. Anti-Piracy Companies, Piracy Tracking, and of course people are gonna bypass all of this and bypass the Piracy anyways wasting more money. 1/5 of the people are actually gonna buy it the other 4/5 are just gonna pirate it.

Seriously, there will be a PC version, like every GTA had from the start, this game is a PC game from the start, so yes people pirate the PC version a lot, but I'm not one of them, I get a cracked copy first to make sure it runs smooth on my PC, then I get the game in store if it works like it should, if not, too bad, I won'r spend 59,99$ for a game that doesn't run on my computer, it would be like someone paying for a Ferrari windshield for their Lamborghini, it won't fit so why waste money on that. The problem this time is that both Microsoft and Sony paid Rockstar to make sure it was a console exclusive game for awhile, but the PC version is due for the first quarter of 2014, I'll be 100% sure of this before the end of the year...

Every title developed Rockstar North has had a PC version after release (Even some developed by a different branch of R* has a PC version), I really don't see why V is an exception.

I think that Rockstar had only 1 title that was never ever ported to the PC and its Red Dead Redemption, that would be amazing to see it on PC but I think they had signed a real exclusive to console thing so they will never ever be allowed to do a PC version of it.

There are a few, RDR, LC and VC stories never came on PC. But those weren't primarily developed by Rockstar North, so they could have their own reasons.

I don't cheat often enough for this to really bother me, but think about this: If the time limit was 60 minutes, would we be having this conversation? But think about this too: maybe R* doesn't want you to use the invincibility cheat. they figured that only the people who REALLY want to be invincible would go through the trouble of entering it every 5 minutes, while the rest play the game without it like they intended.

 

Like I said before, Is it inconvenient? Yes

Is it enough to change my opinion of the overall game? No

 

I don't see the logic of including such a feature in the game if you don't want people to use it. And where does R* get off telling us how to play their game? What if I just want to shoot important characters (I wanted to shoot Chop so bad on the first mission)? What if I don't care to play missions and I just want to run around and kill people? What if I don't even want to play story at all and just bought the game for online?

 

Not saying that is my intent, but it just seems silly to me. They crafted an experience but the player is by no means confined to that. Once they purchase the game they can do what they want with it. That's just the way I see it.

 

Yeah their limiting our free roam fun for no reason. I mean the invincibility cheat is like 'Ok have fun but ONLY for 5 minutes'. WTF

If people that played the game without cheats had to enter a code to stay alive every 5 minutes to play the game like they wanted, you bet your asses they would have 12 threads on it about how it sucks. I didn't play IV for the missions or trophies, I hate trophies on any game, I bought IV because I liked 3 and 2 and SA and the ability to play the game THE WAY I WANTED TO. I bought 5 hoping they made the experience better than it's predecessors, sadly they did not. They failed us that are on the other side of that coin. Using cheats the way they have it set up now with disabling stuff after you use a cheat has zero effect on any other player BUT THE ONE USING THE CHEAT! I didn't even buy this version to play missions, I am still planning the first heist and I got the game at the midnight release! I bought it to screw around in, just like the other versions.

 

I see both sides of this debate, however, one would think they would try and make both gamer types happy. This timer bullsh*t seriously is a total waste of coding. There is no conspiracy on it, they put it in, plain and simple, they can take the tiemr out as well, plain and simple, called a 36KB update, V1.03 and make both sides happy. The cheats have no bearing on non cheat code users, hell, you cannot even do a mission with a cheat on, so really, the cheats are for free roamers such as myself you are smart enough not to do this sh*t in real life, so we enjoy doing it in a fictional setting. Those of you who don't want the cheats, and do not use them, congratulations to you for being +1 on the ones who do use them, but you need to understand, they way they set this up this time, you cannot progress in the game using the cheat system, thus we are no competition to those of you who are doing it legit. I do not bitch about you playing it straight and narrow do I? Does anyone bitch about any of you NOT using cheats? Hell no! Us "cheaters" are not effecting you purists so really, you have not one leg to stand on in this thread. This thread is mainly for us cheat code users who want to free roam any way we want to, that includes invincibility!

 

Just one old farts opinion, but I have been playing these videa games longer than most of you have been alive, and to be honest, it is refreshing to playa game twice, IE: play the game legit and pure, then go back through and cause mayhem, I like to do the opposite, I want to cause mayhem, get good at the controls and be comfortable with the gameplay BEFORE I actually waste my time playing missions (see, I really hate missions!)

 

At any rate, to each their own, and a cheer to all of you, this is just my rant, i have many many others about this pathetic version, but they will be off topic and I am sure there are others who have made a thread about the very things that make me want to break this disc right in front of every R* programmers face, so I will continue to go back into lurking to find these threads. I must say, this 5 page read was great info, but alas, I honestly do not think it will do any good. Perhaps a FB page could be created to organize disgruntled patrons of this episode so that the R* FB page can be totally clear on our complaints. If you do make one, please do us all a favor and not name it something childish like R* sucks ass or something. Let's all handle this as much as adults as we can and perhaps they will actually listen and take the timer off. That is all we want right?

Yup, just discovered that this cheat is useless,, fun for rampage, but it won't help you with missions, at least after a certain number of fail, you can always click on skip the mission, I had one with an plane I had to land perfectly, I was unable to do this one, I'm glad they had a skip option, after 20 times trying I got bored and just skipped it...

as far as it only being 5 mins its not a problem for me to just re enter it fast its a easy code if you cant enter it fast you should not rampage

No, they should not have a timer on any cheat. Play it until yo get bored and shut it off. Works for cheaters and purists alike for any game.

Actually MMAT if you enter the code again BEFORE the timer runs out, it automatically deactivates invincibility so you'd need to enter again after that.

Whatever the reason for the timer, it seems pretty silly since if you still want trophies etc, you cant save your game w/ cheats and you cant use them online or during missions so its kind of pointless to have it run out as if, "oh no, you might decide to get MAX *'s and duke it out w/ cops for longer than five minutes or get into a gang/ped shootout lasting more than 5 mins, we cant have that!"

 

Its just kind of silly when you're only going to use it for experimentation, shootouts, etc.. Whenever a PC version comes out, IF R* will continue to be mod-friendly, then those getting it most likely wont have to worry about that.

 

I used weapons and invincibility (w/out saving) to get into, I guess its the prison and that was vicious. I flew into it @ night using a buzzard, then snatched a cop car trying to find my way out, the buzzard was gone, finally found the small exit door and was able to spawn a buzzard outside. I just ran out of time by the time the blades spun, I was able to get up in the air & get away, heli smoking, armor down, dropped it into the water.

Yup they should allow it online, but only on designated servers that allow cheats to be used, like they did with GTAIV PC, if you had any modifications, we were still allowed online, but only on servers that had modded files in them, so we could have a massive mayhem online without ruining the legit online game experience for the ones that want to do it without any cheats or mods, which is quite fun, but boring after awhile...
