Why I love the invincibility code

You do know that almost all gta games dont even have the code at all..the last game didn't..did you really think this one would be different?

f*ck the rest of the GTA games from the past this is the modern future world of entertainment not the past. We need to make games good for the people today if you live the past (a small minority of people) then stop using the modern-future products and bitching that companies won't be the past.

We are talking about Single Player there is perfect reasoning for why there is no cheats in Multi Player I never said I was the person who doesn't have fun without cheats, but cheats expand our fun and keep us entertained. Well good for you you're having fun without them alot of people would have MORE FUN with them and with good cheats.

5 Min is good, if you need it more than that just type it in again, it really is that easy!

5 minutes is tedious and f*cking annoying do you really have to do this when rockstar could've made a simple 5 minute step to change the cheat? Saving you time from having to enter it.

SantosAssassin

I actually like the fact that its five minutes. Lets say I want to put the cheat in then want to go back to regular game mode I dont have to restart the game.

What I really hate is you have to put the cheats in manually. It was so easy to use cheats in GTA IV. I hate that I have to start a screen and put buttons in just to use a cheat.

Wonder if this topic will be locked, or if the moderaters are only interested in locking topics that have a negative stance on the cheat.

I thought mine was fairly reasonable and mature.

there is a lot of entitlement running rampant here.

Cheats are never required in any game. And they are a privilege that some developers include for the games, it's not required and the trend is dying anyways. Many developers do not include cheats anymore, period.

How a developer chooses to implement cheats is their own prerogative There has always been a limit on GTA Invincibility IN SA it only protected you against bullets everything else could still kill you.

And if that developer does it in their perspective it just makes people hate it depending on how many people are for it. If you do what the people want and have great reasoning behind it and it is beneficial then there is a good reason to keep it there, but if you have cheats people will be happy and people should not be limited on their entertainment and enjoyment.

The "take whatever you get and be thankful for it" school of thought is all well and good, but as I argued in my topic there is literally no reason to make the thing you are so generously giving us(the fans) worse, or less functional than it needs to be.

Someone intentionally decided to add a strict time limit to a cheat that is better off without it, and I'd like to know why. It's like a back-handed compliment or getting a complimentary soup that has a dead fly floating in it.

Thanks, but why do that?

A few people upset about the invincibility cheat is not going to ruin Rockstar. Trust me. They will be A Ok. You may not like the way the cheat is but that's is how they chose implement it, and not everybody is upset with that. I'm not.

You're crying over something that really is not that big of a deal. Rockstar North has it made it clear over the years by the way they implement Invincibility and the fact that they often don't include it period, that they simply do not like this kind of cheat.

So it better than nothing. They could have excluded it all together. In actuality they are giving you more in V than they have ever done before. This is complete invincibility And once the 5 mins is up you can simply re enter it. So instead of trying to slander Rockstar because they didn't give you what you want exactly the way you want it, take a step back and look at what they have actually given. More then they have ever given us gamers before. This is the first time the invincibility works completely.

wait, so you can't re-enter the cheat when the 5 minutes is up? 5 minutes is a good time to have a rampage but sometimes i like to go longer, if you can't keep entering in the cheat that kind of sucks.

edit: oh, i see there is a health+armor cheat, i'll keep entering that instead like the good 'ol days, that cheat was always perfect since it keeps me on my toes and keeps some suspense in the shootouts

The only invisibility code in previous GTA games was in San Andreas, and even that had limits as explosions, drowning and falling could still kill you.

It is going to send a message to make it last longer we are not trying to ruin them. Many of the people that heard of the cheat are upset about it and there is no reason to why it should be 5 minutes. It may be your company and the way you want it, but that doesn't mean you should have things as you want it. You will simply be attacked in this world for stuff that you think is right, but that doesn't mean you should keep those opinions if you want to be one of the smart people and be the one everyone wants do what the intellectuals say and you should be fine. I'm fine with what they have given I'm just trying to get the voice heard to what they haven't.

I've noticed that there are a total of 10 people actively participating in personal name calling over opinions. Rockstar isn't reading this site. All threads are opinions or the words of people who have absolutely no say in what will or will not become of GTA5. Suffice to say RockStar is heavily focused on bringing us a fun Online experience and they'll likely take care of our complaints as they see fit. Please don't call someone a douche or "bundle of sticks/ British cigarette" just because their opinion isn't the same as yours. It's the same as someone's, just as your opinion is the same as another's. If we could all keep it to ourselves, email RockStar and they'll build a database of issues to fix. Be clear, calm, use spell check before sending the email because obviously it's a lost cause here...

It worked perfectly fine in RDR, another open world rockstar title not made all that long ago. This is not a first. I'd even argue that the flawed invul cheat in GTA:SA is better than the intentionally limited, but more complete cheat that we have in GTA: V.

Again, rather than being blindly thankful for getting the cheat in it's current form, I'd like to know the reasoning behind making it objectivly worse than it has any right to be.

This was an intentional design choice that doesn't seem to have a solid reason behind it. If you want your fans to be happy, then why add a caveat that will invevitablly rankle them?

I mean sure having more cheats and a longer time period on the invincibility heat would be great and by no means do I think it should not be asked for..but i dont see any reason for anyone to expected it to be there at all any any length of time or to feel ripped off giving the history of gta games not having it having been includied the last one in the series

but i did expect a few more goofy type of cheats... like the ped riots or something lol.

but its still early yet so more cheats may pop up that just are not known its possible *shrug*

you might be frantically punching the code too fast I did that fighting the army and was screaming god damn it why don't you work?! I was so red but then realized I was doing it wrong anways there's two helpful methods for entering in the invincibility cheat code

1. Hold down LB or L1 which brings up the weapon wheel making the game run slower) then enter in the code

2. pause the game enter in the code and exit the screen by pressing the start button.

White Hot Speed

I think its the principle of the matter that pisses some of us off. Its not like we cant type in a simple code. Its that were forced to.

Some of us are looking at the bigger picture of "What's Next? Are you gonna charge us for the 10 minute invincibility code in your next game?!"

What they (the suits at R*) are saying is... "We don't want you to have toooo much free fun. We have DLC we need you to look at!"

And that's where we're headed if we don't PROTEST anything.

If you don't open your mouth, you better get used to opening your other hole.

Rockstar should do what people want because it gains them more respect. We already found all the cheats and there is no more unless they realy want to add some.

First of all. RDR is not from Rockstar North. It's from rockstar San Diego. Two entirely different games that where held to two entirely different principles pertained to the team making those games.

And this is your opinion but I don't understand why you would prefer SA's partial invincibility where everything else killed you but billets as opposed to V's invincibility where nothing can kill you. But to each their own.

The fans are happy I am, and so are many others. And Some are not, but if you somehow think that Rockstar can please everyone then you are very naive.

For someone with both a RDR avatar and Sig, you don't seem to know much about that game's cheats.

All of your posts are basically sum up to saying "Shutup and be thankful for what you got".

You seem to be the one confused about how this cheat divides the community. Let's illustrate this quickly:

Cheat as it currently is: Many people annoyed and unhappy about having to re-enter it constantly

Cheat if it was a simple "enter once to turn on, again to turn off": Nobody would have ANY reason to be upset. People who want to be invul are happy, people who want to use it temporarily are happy.

I don't know why you insist that Rockstar dislikes invul cheats or that this somehow represents one of thier "core values" (rather silly if you ask me). If that's true then why include it at all? Are you saying that they included it, but nerfed it's fun factor and functonality out of spite?

I do not consider myself entitled at all, I just want to know why they chose to do what they did when functionally all it serves to do is worsen the intended experiance of being invulnerable.
