Thunder on rails, or Mayhem on a train

Recommended Posts

I had a 5 star run for over an hour, almost two, 1h:45m. I went to Sandy Shores, gunned up and got ammo, then ran over to catch a train.

Caught a ride on a flat bed. Waited until I got to a district and launched off a few RPG into the streets to get the cops attention, shot at them to get the stars up to three and then the helicopters came.

That is when it gets interesting. They just keep coming. Five stars in no time. Then just fire at the heli's as they keep coming. You can pretty much keep the five star going.

It can get a little hairy as the Mav's come by and strafe from either side. Just hunker down and keep your health in the green.

Some of the FIB will try to run the rails, that's fun as well. Or hitting them when they are on the freeway. I had a heli crash on the train and left a swat team member on my train. Dispatched him.

When the stars are blinking and you are in the tunnels you can just fire at the general direction of them, or shoot the locomotive engine to go red again.

At some point the swat on the heli's may get a lucky shot. But the thing is to get this going, and keep it going for as long as you can.

The looks that MIchael gets under this stress is epic.

Just something to consider trying when bored. Watching the Mav's crash and burn is worth it.

How do you actually get on the train in the first place?

Jumping on it with a motorbike in the countryside. There's one mission where you jump on the train.

You could also just walk up near the train and when a flatbed is in front of you, jump on to it. Your character will grab the side and pull himself up. Edited by Mannulus

lol.

Yeah, I'm not cool with the idea of jumping onto a moving flatbed somehow!

Yes but it does work. Maybe take a time or two. But if you stand just right as the flatbeds come by and hold the x button your character will hop on. Losing the five star is actually easier than keeping it. Going through the tunnels usually ends it. That is why I recommended that you just keep shooting. If you want it to end just wait it will and you can jump off the way you jumped on. Just wait for some flat land.

Yeah... it actually is a bit hectic shaking off the wanted level. No matter where I hide in the flatbed the helis just keep spawning in an unlucky place and spots me, resetting the stupid timer. Fun times though until it gets pretty boring.
