MaxPayne3MP3
Most people might argue that the story is fine just like it is, but 1 thing I notice is how the game treats Franklin. 1. Gang-related missions - A MAJOR flaw is the lack of gang-related missions available in GTA 5. I'm 55% into the game and coming to an ending (Union Depository Score) and at this point there is no more hope for any gang missions, at least for me assuming this. So far I've only seen TWO and ONLY TWO gang-related missions in GTA 5. The one where they had a drug deal in the warehouse and the Hood Safari, which was the brick of dry wall crack. Isn't GTA 5 supposed to reunite old SA fans into the role of Franklin but only have a couple of real hood missions? At the beginning point of the game you could also almost see how Franklin drifts away from the hood to taking scores now with Trevor and Michael. 2. How the game treats Franklin - This isn't about Trevor bullying Franklin so much, not at all, that's just half of the issue. Sure you see Trevor always bullying Franklin and having Franklin take it unlike a gangster. The part that makes me mad at Rockstar is actually putting Franklin in these situations. You really can't see Franklin in most missions, i feel like most of them are either personal problems of Michael or Trevor, or problems between them. The game also puts F in embarrassing situations, like being screamed at and humiliated by Trevor after laughing at him when he trips, this could have easily been different if the game treated Franklin with a little bit more respect. Franklin is my favorite character, he is a stable character with no issues and has a good character, but seeing how the game treats him, by constantly humiliating him and ignoring his role in the story angers me.. What do you think?.
Pinnkiepie
Franklin wanted out of the Ghetto, maybe that's why he didn't have as many gang-related missions as the protagonist had in San Andreas. MaxPayne3MP3 and poklane
GTA-Addicted
Franklin tries to get out the gangbangin scene (that's also why Lamar sometimes reacts unkind towards F) but gets pulled back in crime by meeting Michael.
Algonquin Assassin
Franklin wanted out of the Ghetto, maybe that's why he didn't have as many gang-related missions as the protagonist had in San Andreas.This. It's well known one of the driving forces behind Franklin's character before release was he wanted to get out of the ghetto. If you bought GTA V expecting Franklin to be involved in a heap of drive bys, cracking gang angers in the face with his fists etc you bought the wrong game. Contrary GTA V was never intended to be a sequel to SA. Gang banging was always planned to be a minor element in GTA V. poklane
Shinto
Franklin had enough of his life with the families, he wanted to get away from the Clowns holding him back like Stretch and to an extent Lamar. He mentions the gang being more or less a pyramid scheme on a number of occasions. When he meets Michael he saw an opportunity to go somewhere, and it took him further then even he was expecting. carmelo3
End of the day this isnt San Andreas 2.0 or a gang banging simulator. Yeah there was only 3/4 gang related missions but Franklin was still involved in large amount of missions. Some of the best missions in the game involved Franklin. I think most of the gang related stuff is up to the player in free roam. Just walking around South LS with Franklin you're gonna at some point end up in some sort of gang situation, wether it be set tripping from other Families members or Ballas pressing you etc. I've been shot at, had guns pulled on me, been asked where I'm from etc. Only thing I agree on is that at times it felt like the story was just about Trevor and Michael, I wish we got to see more of Franklins backstory however, was interesting how his mother kept on getting referenced. TeCNeEk
Gang Territories would have been cool, but the game already juggles so much. I think the game is fine how it is. Edited September 27, 2013 by TeCNeEk
