Its only there for the mission. Those instructions were cryptic clues in San Andreas that alluded to the Epsilon cult being in the game. I guess a player discovered that if you walked between a set of hills a truck would drive up and you would take it to finish your induction into the program. R* took this and made it very literal, since no one ever figured it out in San Andreas and its assumed to be a myth. Still, some of that old Epsilon info is still useful. Look up "Cracking the Epsilon Code" and you will find an old thread where they tried to do basically what we are only back in the San Andreas days.

Thanks man, Those both look like they might point to things if viewed from the air. I am starting to believe that this is a Da Vinci Code-esque riddle/map contained in the tract

I also found that island and I knew it looked familiar. The tree caught my eye not just because its the only tree on the island but because the surrounding areas is all spruce trees.

The lighthouse is also prominently shown in the Epsilon screen saver. Both of these locations could prove to be relevant. Good job guys!

 

Edit: Also, look closer at the leaves on the tree. They are pink!

If you are talking about stopping the lighthouse light from spinning, I went and checked it out and it only works when you have the light just barely in your line of sight, leading me to think its a graphical glitch and not actually intended by R*

I might be on to nothing here but I know you are looking for the 11th mission and I was reading about the blue light theory. Well I have found a building with blue lights on the side and coincidently the heli pad on the roof is the number 11. Can some one tell me how to upload photos from my phone and I can show the helipad and location?

Although to be COMPLETELY honest, I honestly don't believe really that they have put something as complex as we are making it out to be Nonetheless all these threads are still very interesting to read, especially this one

Honestly I can see it. GTA has a history of players looking waaaay into the game to look for stuff that may or may not be there. Is it too much to believe that this $265 million monster of a game might actually have incorporated a giant mystery because the Dev's actually anticipated this? Maybe they thought "lets put a sweet secret in there to reward those players that put countless hours into these types of things." I find this quite easy to see actually. And seeing as how most of the search in the SA days was for the Epsilon Cult, it makes sense that they would bring it back in a big way.

 

Were on the right track guys! I expect a major break in this by the end of the weekend if we keep going at the rate were going. Good work to everyone!

Unrelated but interesting post from Jetpack thread:

You guys know the altruist camp?

 

I went up there and I noticed the graffiti over all the walls. All their graffiti speaks about the sun, and the 'eye of the sun.', also with pictures depicting it, also 'your path is lit.'

 

The picture at the top of the mural graph above the mountain is the altruist depiction of the 'eye of the sun.'

 

After leaving the altruist camp I scoped out the rising sun with a sniper rifle, and I noticed there was a bright point at the center of the sun, like an EYE.

 

I stayed zoomed in on the 'eye' and a distorted sound got louder and louder, it sounded like a UFO. As soon as I zoomed out to take a look around me, the sound stopped. I think I may have been close to the answer to everything.

 

When I zoomed back on the sun, the sun was just a perfect blur with no bright point in the center.

Can't speak to the sound, but the sun does that when it's behind a cloud. Zoom in on it and it'll show up as a small bright spot, then when the cloud is gone, it'll go back to normal.

Dont know if anyones noticed these things...

Sometimes when you go to trevors trailer, ron will be looking at the sky with binoculars saying that "he swore he could see something moving". He will later pull out a radio and pace backwards and forwards searching for a signal, a few strange sounds come through his radio.

There is another 8 in dignity camp on a bin inside a tent, a leonora johnson scrap is found here too, possibly related with infinite 8 somehow?

Also, if you look into the telescope on chiliad it seems to point you towards the observatory, which also has one single out of place telescope. That one seems to point out to ocean to the south, and when flying over that direction an arrow can be seen on the beach pointing towards the ocean (ill try to get a pic)

And finally and possibly most importantly, watch tbe games credits, it shows many places that are significant and many more that could be.
