Hey,

 

How can I go to the snowy town . north jankton . which we see in the beginning of the game (bank robbery)?

 

I just got back to the town during a mission, then back to the Los Santos, but can't find the town anywhere.

 

And I think it is a pretty big area, I had to drive like 1.5 miles straight (with a lot of road behind me) to get to the cemetery, why would Rockstar make all of that if you can't even access it in free roam?

You can't. Only with hacks which won't be possible until the PC version unless you have a modded console.

I'm hoping it will be an online area. Rockstar has said it will try to make new areas accessible to Online as time goes by. That means RdR style death-matches. Imagine, start a death-match in the arena maybe? Or the construction skyscraper... and later on maybe Ludendorff. One can only hope and speculate.

A lot of these things are there for Online. When you build two games concurrently using the same engine you are bound to run into such things.

 

As for the town, it wouldn't be entirely impossible that it's somewhere out in the ocean. But more likely, yeah, it's not part of the main world, meaning that it would only be accessible with mods on PC.

Rockstar has stated that in updates to GTAO youll eventually be able to visit other locations. Im assuming this will be Liberty City and Lundendroff...Maybe well even get to see Vice City.

The Problem with North Yankton is that it takes place in North Dokota. In order for us to go there they will have to convert it into a island of it's own.

Some kid will figure out how to get there with cheat codes.

 

Anyone go to Liberty City back in SA? That was quite an adventure getting up there. Had to walk under the city, fly a car into the sky, ect ect.

lol, it was a way to engage the player in michael and trevors past before delving into the main story and the main setting which is los santos. they werent drunk, they probably didnt think the fans would be so uptight and anal about not getting to free roam a measly .00001 % of that area. or about driving a f*cking train. nevermind the amount of work put into every other aspect of the game, lets focus on driving trains and snowy areas!!!!! maybe the next gta will allow you to strictly drive a train, switching between two characters that highly resemble chris pine and denzel washington, and the location? you guessed it, f*ckkkkking alaska.

What if trains will be available Online? Along with the clothing, facial hair, hair, clothing, vehicles and missions left out of SP. Not complaining, had fun playing and beating this game. But I'm hopeful of a patch too. Maybe the stuff will be added to SP when MP starts... speculation!

The f*ck for? The only thing Id ever want to do with a train is cause a trainwreck...Id do that maybe once or twice and immediately get bored of it and move on never to touch it again.

 

I cant possibly see why anyone would be so damn upset about a train not being drivable...theres two functions on the damn thing...Faster/Slower. You HAVE to follow the track.

Ehhhh.... Flying is better but I would still like driving trains. I mean come on. There is one mission where this a detailed train controlling room, with in game controls to accelerate and decelerate. It would have taken at the most 2 days to add the effect to enter the train and make it accessible. It is just one of those lazy small details on r* that they won't add, unless they want it as online only, or an update.

i actually had no problem with the lack of planes in gta4. it made sense with the size of the map. and i think 99% of the gta community would disagree that freely flying planes and jets around the map is boring yet driving a train in the same direction on a set of tracks is somehow more exciting.

Personally the disappointment is in the fact that there isn't a snowy region to visit when you want, especially after they teased it with that post card, even if the driving isn't that far off from how vehicles handle in rain... Hopefully that area will be made available with GTAO, it wouldn't take much work to get around the land locked issue.

You should be able to fly to it. It should take like 5 minutes real time to get there.

And for the landlocked issue; this could be a solution;

 

Just make a lot of snowy simple area around it. Just some mountains or something (like in Battlefield 3).

You can only see those areas, you can't really go to it. If you try to, you'll automatically die (just like in shooters). And if you want to get to ludendorf, you have to land your plane in a small airfield or within the borders of the town.
