anon164327
ALL PSN digital copy players are experiencing the same problems as the xbox disc 2 problem except there's no fix and Rockstar and Sony are collecting their money and ignoring the problems. I made a video for all the blind people saying ''IT LOOKS FINE TO ME''. Just sit back and watch my video. I know I recorded it with my phone but click on 1080p anyways and try to see the ''pop ins'' and ''aliasing'' problems for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBD7-BB4dxc Edited September 29, 2013 by calearne

Rorschach37
I have the psn version too and I had the opportunity to play the Xbox 360 version too... Yeah the PSN version sucks! I really hope they fix this because it's not only ugly but when you drive at high speed sometimes something pops up before you and you crash... anon164327
I don't understand what you're trying to show us The Pop-In textures and disgusting aliasing that makes my head hurt. All PSN digital players are suffering from the xbox disc 2 pandemic.
DaRkL3AD3R
Remember all the PS3 fanboys having a giggle at all the posts saying don't install both disks on the xbox? Well playstation isn't immune to the reason they advised against installing the whole game to a single hard drive. Hur dur Sony fanboys are such f*cking idiots. Rockstar and Sony are keeping quiet about it all. IGN even wrote a story up about it and DF made a really good video. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09/18/gta-5-digital-version-reportedly-suffering-issues
mdniterder
This looks like a Possible Hard drive buffering issue, LAG in hardware from everything being on one medium vs everything being read from two devices, working in parallel to each other. Such as a raid system with multiple drives will have a faster read/write speed of the same data as one single hard drive. I don't feel this is all Sony's fault or Rockstar's. This game is visually intense and a lot of data for the system to read. Only thing I have ever really noticed on my ps3 and this may happen on Xbox and I have the disc version is that during a cinematic camera angle that is right above me while in a car, I see a faint box on the road that is slightly lighter surrounding my vehicle. I will capture a pic of this later. Edited September 26, 2013 by mdniterder

mdniterder
if heat wasn't an issue, I have a feeling a 7200rpm drive would fix this problem.
DaRkL3AD3R
Lmfao that digital foundry video. I am intelligent so I bought a 32gb thumb drive so I could install both discs for my xbox copy and not have to deal with any noise or disc wear and guess what? 0 pop in just like the original version shows. Too bad the PS3 version can't do that at all. Now who's having the last laugh f*cking Sony clowns.
Ash_735
if heat wasn't an issue, I have a feeling a 7200rpm drive would fix this problem. I have a 7,200rpm drive, the heat thing is bullsh*t, I've had one in my PS3 since 2008! And yes, Pop In is quite minimal when i play, nowhere near as bad as those videos, the best indicator is the opening cutscene, I looked out for those pop in areas and they just arn't there on my PSN version with a 7,200rpm drive. Ash_735
The fact is, a 5,400rpm drive just doesn't cut it for this game, which BOTH consoles come with by default. Luckily there is a solution for both of them, the Xbox version you have to Install Disc 2 onto a different device than Disc 1, and the PS3 digital Version, you just need a faster Hard Drive, hell, if you want to go all out and have money to spare, grab an SSD for the PS3, GTAV seems to be one of those games that actually makes use of it. I didn't think it would be, Just rumors is what they were then, But I also have the Original PS3 and I do hear the fan a lot so I stuck with a 5400rpm when I popped in my 750gig drive but RPM and Cahce size and Read/Write speeds affect this type of situation a lot. DaRkL3AD3R: That's awesome you can install it on a flash drive, they tend to have faster read speeds being solid state drive and no moving parts, Give me a good price terabyte drive and I would install that into my PS3 While we can't install to a thumb drive like the Xbox360 we can freely upgrade our drives. they both have their perks. I can honestly say even have a 5400rpm, Actually PS3 came with I think 5200 drives, I have not seen any issues of popping but I do not have the whole game installed on my drive. anon164327
I'm going to buy a SSD and run through the same blimp test and see if cars and bushes and textures still pop up out of nowhere like a jack in the box. Not sure what brand but probably under $180. The aliasing is a whole other issue caused by the old hardware. I could avoid all this BS if rockstar would confirm that a PS4 launch was ahead. brian.
probably every person with issues is running through standard def. 5400rpm drive is too slow when it comes to those on 720p. And standard def is more work than 720p on 3d scenes like this. I am not explaining because people won't get it, listen or don't, the people I see in these vids with pop in are on 480p instead of 720p like the game is designed for and even GTA IV runs worse the lower you set resolution on the PC, because it needs more pixels or else it works too hard to decide what doesn't get shown in any of them with too few to do it.
