Even if u add the best engine, transmission, turbo and everything the only thing that changes is the acceleration. nothing else changes. ofcourse u can make ur car look more beautiful and add many things but the top speed doesn't change.

just for fun whats the point of changing clothes when they dont affect you? its just for entertainment and to make the game more immersive.

I find my cars corner faster with the upgraded suspension.

Armor makes the car heavier (well I found, I haven't confirmed) and increases strength

Roll cages, when available, help when rolling sideways down hills

Engine / Turbo upgrades make acceleration faster

Bulletproof tyres are bulletproof

Exhaust alters the sound, and other visual upgrades just give you a nicer looking ride.

Lots of reasons I stop by LS Customs.

Top speed may not change, but getting their is a lot quicker.

To make it easier for alot of problems that were unavoidable in previous games. clearly
Different tyres like off road means you can continue at your speed in the desert.
Stronger tyres allow you to pass the tyre popping things cops put down in chases so you dont start spinning out of control, they also defend againts the new COP AI of them shooting your tyres too.
Armour allows you to resist more before taking damage to yourself and your car.

There's ALOT. not to mention to make you look unique and stand out more in ONLINE.

Wait for online and get a buddy in same type of car unmodded and test it that way, or you could time yourself on the open road from point A to B. I'm not sure but maybe the speed, breaking, etc, graphs are glitched when customising. Either way I would also like to know if upgrading engine effects top speed.

This would be a great video for typical gamer to do.

Well...You gotta think about it, GTA isnt a racing game made by R*, but Midnight club is.

And Midnight club does change your car stats by modding it.

100% agreed OP. Very weak car stat customization. I mean it's nice that we can alter the brakes, but really? The top tier brake change is like 1/20th of the whole bar. It's a joke.

Top speed and the other stat, never change. Wasted/missed opportunities. The only thing we can do now is hope that future patches/GTA:O DLC can fix most of the sh*t that should have been since release.

Pretty much all I've seen it do is ungrade armor so the car can take more damage before exploding, give yourself bullet-proof tires, make you accelerate faster and repaint the car. I've taken Franklin while owning the Los Santos Customs and upgraded everything to max (for free) and the only thing that ever went up was acceleration.

I've only noticed acceleration and speed. I like the bulletproof tires, though. Im not a car guy but I'm glad the feature is in.

Meh, I've noticed that they don't help all that much either. I fully upgraded a Comet and my top speed was 122.... it was going any faster.

Hey, dummy, clothes at least serve an aesthetic purpose. If there is going to be an engine indicator than there should be upgrades that affect it.

Why not leave it out than? Well apparently you think it's more immersive? Please.

The only thing I think rockstar overhyped was the car modding, where are these thousands of options? You're lucky if the car has a selection of 2 front bumpers. Would of been nice to be able to get art work on our cars too!

With that said its still fun to mod cars and store them in your garage.
