deadacc12082022 Posted September 26, 2013 Share Posted September 26, 2013 What the f*ck happened with the ability to purchase apartments like they showed in the "Grand Theft Auto V: Official Gameplay" Video That was one thing I was really looking forward to when I got GTA V. Am I missing something or have Rockstar just let me down Sorry if this has been posted before by someone else but it's just really pissing me off, has anyone got any idea on whats happened? It wouldn't be that bad if they hadn't show the property website in the single player part of the gameplay trailer. I still somewhat am hoping Dynasty 8 will start working in Single Player when Online launches, but I'm almost positive this won't happen. They talk about Tattoo's and properties, with a pause, and then they say "and then there's grand theft auto online, which we will show you properly soon." This implies that the property purchasing, shown to be handled through the Dynasty8 website, is in-fact SINGLE PLAYER featured. Hence the break away to GTA Online afterwards. Why can't we purchase from it yet? My guess is it's a server side issue, much like taking pictures and accessing the BAWSAQ are hosed for now. Wait till next week and hopefully we can buy properties besides the generic ones found around the map that are largely worthless (clubs that are unenterable, restaurants, bars, etc etc) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

From the May previews R* gave to the press: You can buy property; houses, garages, businesses and marinas can all be purchased for extra revenue sources. Please, tell me more about how they never said houses. Tell me more. In addition to all of that and everything else that was stated above, there is also this: The support article also used to say: "This website is not available in Story Mode by design. In Single Player, you can buy properties by checking the pause menu map, going to the location, and walking up to the realty sign in front of the house. Look for icons on the map that look like a house with a dollar symbol inside." Then when several people sent R* an email asking hmmm ok and yet you can only buy businesses and this and that is evidence of residential properties in SP, R* changed that to: In Single Player, you can buy properties by checking the pause menu map, going to the location, and walking up to the realty sign in front of the property. Evidence of residential properties all over the game, the homes with Dynasty 8 have a garage that opens when you go up to them, blueprint map with SE has safehouses marked all over the map. Several people also said that on September 17th before the SC servers really went down, they were able to access Dynasty 8 in SP but they couldn't do anything aside from "add to GPS" and no one bothered to look into it more because no one had money at that point in the game to even bother with houses. Seems legit, the entire gameplay video shows off solely singleplayer aside from that ONE and ONLY one sequence of the Dynasty 8 website. Seems legit, R* is treating GTAV and GTA: Online as two separate entities (their words) yet they show off a feature solely in multiplayer in a gameplay video solely showing off singleplayer which then says "and then there is Grand Theft Auto Online, which we will be showing you properly soon". "And then...." "And then...." "And then...." Seems legit, that they had two separate press previews for the singleplayer and Online because the two are separate from each other and that in the May singleplayer previews we heard that you can buy various real estate including houses and businesses. Yes, they went through so much effort to treat SP and MP differently the gameplay video solely showing off SP included a feature from MP.
