Poll: Should GTA have a difficulty setting?

I was curious what everybody thinks about this. Here's my 2 cents... GTA should have a difficulty setting, because it's way too easy for people who are good at it. I turn off auto aim, which makes it a little harder, but I still beat the game easily. I like a challenge. I like to get stuck on missions once in a while.

 

A difficulty setting could be used to change how much health the player or enemies have, and possibly how well the AI plays. It could also be used to regulate car damage. One of the very few complaints I have about GTA 5 is the car damage. I cannot destroy a car unless I deliberately try to. It feels like cars are indestructible in this game. I'm a good driver, and I'd like my car to be totalled after a full speed collision. It makes you try to drive better, and it gets your adrenaline going if you're in a cop chase and you're going full speed trying not to crash. I'd like to have the option to change the difficulty to hard, making the game harder, and making the cars get destroyed easier. What do you guys think?

it couldnt hurt. im only 50 percent through the story but i like so far how the missions have been relatively easy,maybe im just getting old. I also like that you can skip missions (not sure how that works) if you really are having a hard time?

I voted no but then I read your post and you make some good points. I'm personally not a big fan of getting stuck on missions or being inconvenienced by dying or totalling your car often, but if you like the challenge you should have the option. Although I do feel like the difficulty of the game is also dependant on how you play. If you're better at the game, you could try more difficult things like driving faster or killing enemies in cooler ways.

I voted "yes" mostly because more options is always a good thing for making a larger percentage of the players happier. I don't need it personally. I'm comfortable how it is.

Also, you could change the game to an easier difficulty if you wanted. I'm trying to get my girlfriend to play GTA 5, and it's too hard for her because she's never played GTA, and doesn't play game much in the first place. It would be nice if she could switch it to an easier difficulty because she'd probably find it more fun.

Yes I think so. Don't know why anyone would say no? Wouldn't hurt anyone & the game would be able to played by players of all skill levels.

& you can switch from what kind of experience you want whenever you want. If you want realism put it on hardcore or something, if you want to go on a wild rampage put it on easy...

There's really no reason to say no other than the always present "They have other things to work on" line.

Traditional GTA = UberNuub

Assisted Aiming = Nuub

Free aim = Challenge.
