Decoding the Mount Chiliad Mural

Ohh, one last thing from today's work I forgot to share:

 

I went over snapomatic pics with tag "Ufo" sorted as "popular". Look at the first one, it's a pic of the military ufo.. The share button isn't working well on it, but that's what I have in my browser address:

Anyways, click on the map icon to see where this pic was taken... And it's not over the base! It's in the far right edge of the map!

 

Naturally I went there and checked, and found nothing.. So I dismissed it as a glitch in the picture map location

Ah, R* and their red herrings...

 

Indeed. It seems it does that for all photos of the UFOs apart from the hologram.

 

If you take a picture and it detects the UFO in the frame, it simply puts the location off into the sea to stop everyone knowing where it is.

 

Wrong. I took numerous photos of the UFO above Fort Zancudo a few days ago.

The GPS puts them exactly where I took the photos.

 

someone mentioned that photos that were taken during the "rockstar cloud server problems" have problems with exact locations

I think most of the obsessive searching is out of wishful thinking. I want that jetpack now! I want to fly a ufo! If I have to wait for DLC this will be so anti climatic. Plus, gunting is fun!!

Sorry I wasn't berating you misunderstood. I said ugh in response to how hard rockstar made them to find. Sorry for the confusion I thank you a lot for looking dude please don't get the wrong idea as for the second bit that was aimed at grumble like the rest. He just seems so skeptical.

 

If it was an understanding then so be it but for the record, Grumbledore has provided alot of insight on this thread - and to me outside of it and no doubt more than you or I are privy to so I believe respect is due, regardless of if you have different ideas.

 

With regard to the mountain / tractor beam glyph debate it could go either way. The glyph from top to bottom could go;

UFO

Cable Cart Building

Mountain (zigzag is path)

OR

UFO

Tractor Beam Box/Device

Tractor Beam

Both have questions - first theory is why draw a mountain that looks like a tractor beam? Second Theory is why only draw that glyph with the 'tractor beam box'? Why not all of them?

 

Originally, I thought it was a beam but since Grumbledores posts, I am not so sure. That's the beauty of a forum, opportunitys to explore things and change your mind should you see fit.

 

Time will tell how it turns out.

This glyph means something to do with the WOW! signal OR sending.recieving a signal. The one on the mountain that you guys are arguing over isn't complete, so you're arguing over nothing.

Thought you guys might find this interesting. As you all know the Los Santos region is based on California and knowing Rockstars love of references to the real world i dont think it would be to much of a stretch to think they werent at least thinking of this when they devised the Mt Chiliad mystery. I dont know about you but id be inclined to say that if there was an entrance to the mountain it would be in the city itself possibly a long underground tunnel but hey just thought id share the link and see if it inspires any ideas.

Oh and did anyone manage to find anything on the Blaine County Savings in Paleto Bay?? I noticed the obvious egg in its its sign as well as the nest egg slogan but after replaying the mission i couldnt find anything. Was curious though as Lester did point out the over the top response may just have been bent cops trying to save there piggy bank as trever said but to call in the military over 2 million?? seemed odd... maybe something to do with the atms i mean theres got to be a reason theyve been left in the game when so many other little features were removed in the stream lining process since gta 4.

Im sorry to go back go the special edition map and its UV markings but where does the X on the back point to? Ive read the sub location but that is $250,000 not $500,000 as asked for. Also it suggests Trevor should take the money there whereas the sub mission is for Michael isnt it? (Shocking memory lol). If the X is measured out on the printed side of the map instead of looking through the map where would it land then?

 

The only guaranteed character to make the game is Franklin who doesn't have the robes or does yoga etc so I'm guessing its not specific who solves the clues.

Surely if theres a flyable UFO its been tested to death so it works properly.

How come one of these testers somewhere hasnt let it slip?

 

Also for what its worth i didnt like the last jetpack so I'm not bothered if one is in the game or not, I'm just enjoying the speculation. You would think however that as one has been around before its not a difficult task to slip one in this game.

If I'm not mistaken, the come back when your story is complete note is deleted when you can trigger the holo, so you can just check if you have this msg or not

game tester mostly have to sign a contract with a secrect agreement. mostly they have to face heavy punishment if they leak any game details.

Ok, so I spent a long, long time flying over LS looking for the legendary 4th UFO and came up with nothing. Does anyone actually still think this is a possibility? I heard mention of Rockstar saying something a while ago, but could easily be misinformation. What's the general consensus on this?

MY personal concensus is that it's BULLsh*t, since nobody ever posts links to where/when R* ever says these things about us missing something still or the Space Docker not being used for the easter egg.

I've been there multiple times on GTA online. You can't buy anything there. You eventually gain access to the sub for free for lifetime upon leveling up.

There is zero evidence to support the Chiliad UFO is a hologram. I keep hearing people calling it a hologram. It might behave like one, it doesn't mean it is one.

 

I believe Cock* simply made the UFO behave this way as it appears to us versus us having to travel to the troposphere to see it.

 

I still maintain that if we can get the Jetpack, you'll be able to fly into it's iris door underneath it.

 

Either way, I doubt it's supposed to be viewed as a holographic UFO. Albeit a nod to the Tupac hologram .

Sorry man ill have another go at explaining things (im not always the best at that) basically i was driving through Paleto Bay and noticed that the billboard on top of the Blaine County Savings Bank (the one robbed in a story mission) had the slogan 'your nest egg' as well as an egg symbol in the top corner. I also noticed that south of this bill board is a sign on the corner that features the same burst effect as seen on the mural. I was curious as to whether anyone had done any experimenting with the atm machines?? Should be at 100% tomorrow so can try tomorrow but was wandering whether anyone else had already done so. Also the link i provided was to a page on a momountain in california (on which los santos is based) which itself has a strange past. Was just curious whether anyone could link anythink from this real mountain to chiliad.

1999-(number here). They just play the same repeated things. For example 1999-554 gives the same reply as 5541,55411,554111 etc.

 

I'm pretty sure a phonecall might trigger the elevator in Fort Zancudo, or possibly somewhere else on the map.

i found a list of phone numbers in a txt file between alot of the subtitles -.- called every single one nada

 

there is no tool integrated for searching. all you can do is extract and then look through every file.

Someone posted a picture of the mural and a postcard from the point of view in the east ocean facing the light house and it shows mt Gordo and mt chiliad in the background. It is the same exact shape as the mural and ends in the same spots. I wish I had a computer not my iPhone or tablet to edit the overlay to this but I am going to take a picture and post to snapmatic

Please don't shoot me down on this but, the reason I believe that the Chiliad UFO is not exactly above the mountain like in the picture is probably because our characters can not look directly upwards.

Just my 2 cent.

If that's the case, the eye symbol could actually mean where the player should stand.
