Microtransactions Explained: Why you shouldn't be worried

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't purchase in game currency myself as I would prefer to see what R* has done to give us ways of earning it and have some fun doing that. I understand why they are doing it as it is very popular in the game industry nowadays due to the increase of casual gamers in the market that don't play games very long or just don't have time to but can have the same opportunity as someone who will play it for longer and earn large amounts of money. It is a good money making strategy and almost all game companies with a competitive multiplayer will or do have some sort of feature like this. Even if there is some other things that can be bought with real money they won't give the player a major advantage as everything has to be balanced out so there is no need to worry.

it seems most of you dont understand. The people that wanna give R* $$ for a quality product is nobodies but their own business. And by givin them $$ they are also funding further development of GTAO. Stop being so self righteous and claiming youre going to murder these "kids". Anyways goodluck as most of us run in crews and killing one of us will lead to other punishments and spawn kills.

mess with the bull you get the horns

I find this sort or microtransactions quite alright really. Stuff is still locked within your own level, and it dosent give any permanent upper hand in the game, so for us who don't buy it can still be on the same page without too much struggle.. Remember though, most of GTA: Online seemes like more of a teamwork oriented game, so rather than killing off every rich kid on the block, take them in, let their wealth help you in heists and such. Look at it analytically, not with rage. Use this feature to your advantage, rather than your enemy, even if you don't buy it yourself.

Santa-SmokinAces

It's their call really, if they want to have the satisfaction of earning it, then don't spend money. Other than that go crazy but it won't make you feel like you've accomplished much, right?

All I've seen against this are people who are:

a) Making wild, inaccurate assumptions

b) Saying all DLC/Microtransactions are literally Hitler because f*ck you, that's why

c) Both

Seriously, what they've done is pretty good. There isn't a problem.

What R* does with your $$ is their business.Meaning you don't know what they do with it. Don't act like you do. Nobody does except them.
