No Thunderstorms problem?

Recommended Posts

Hey, Is anyone else getting thunderstorms in-game besides mission triggered ones, im nearly 100% in the game and haven't seen a storm since one of the first missions, but that is mission triggered, i think this may be a bug and wanted to know if anyone else is lacking stormy weather.

I've seen a few non-mission ones. It's probably just bad luck that you're not seeing any.

Doubt it, i've had everything but thunder and lightning since the mission and i've been playing a lot since the 17th and have nearly 100% the game and still nothing.

Gnocchi Flip Flops

You people cannot be this ignorant of Southern California. :rol: A bug? Really?

Welcome to Southern San Andreas, a reimagined Southern California. Have you ever looked up Southern California. It barely rains, let alone thunderstorms. Its not a bug.

I've had only one thunderstorm whilst cruising. Most of the rain that happens is jusy that, rain. Thunderstorms are extra rare in the game and I was just lucky enough to have one of them.

Interestingly enough the storms are variable. Some are long, some are short. Some have a lot of lightning. My storm only had two strikes and they were pretty close too.

Wait for them dude. And remember, the game is in a reimagined Southern California where it rarely rains, yet alone thunderstorms.

i am only at about 31 percent if that, and ive been through 3 long thunderstorms. Maybe your playing too much mission to mission and dont take enough time to just drive around and create mayhem. Everytime you start a mission the time of day advances to the time and setting they set for the mission so if you had a storm it would pass right away and you would miss it.

I've completed the story and i didnt rush my game i do a lot of free roaming and i mean a lot i still haven't had one, they are amazing and i seriously love thunder and lightning but i can't seem to come by one, i've played a lot of hours, i never went mission to mission i always free roamed in-between.

I've done about 100 hours freeroam & about 15 missons total, I've never seen one.

Do they appear in freeroam before it's scripted in this mission people are talking about? Or does the game wait, so that it has more impact when you experience it as part of said misson?

If you're going to crack a joke at least make sure you don't end up looking like an idiot. Rockstar is basing this game off of Los Angeles and to capture the sunny vibe that means it has to rain less often. Isn't that common sense? So don't try to pull that stupid "Oh this is real life now" crap because its stupid. Grow a brain or something.

Y'all bitched about how Liberty City was too rainy, now you think Los Santos should be rainy? I personally love the sunny vibe, really gives me that LA vibe. I treasure the thunderstorms and don't want it to rain more often because I'll soon get tired of them then.

I'm playing on X360 and I've seen exactly two thunderstorms with actual lightnings at least. Both were with Trevor and in missions, one in the beginning with the bikers and one near the end when flying to North Yankton.

I've freeroamed plenty of hours and haven't seen lightnings at all. I think I might have heard the thunder when it has been raining, but it could have easily been the wind, because it was so quiet compared to the storms in those missions.

Is there a bug that makes thunderstorms not happen, maybe even console-specific? Or have I just been so unlucky, since well it does rain only so rarely anyways? Or are these people saying they've seen thunderstorms just lying or using cheats?
