IDAS Leader
/Thread I'm sorry, but what is your pint exactly. That video doesn't prove squat. @TheMasterf*cker: I don't think you're paying attention to my posts. I haven't been wrong. GTA V has a strong draw distance and can be interpreted as small as the mod in GTA: SA. That video doesn't prove anything? Oh my god, you are literally blind to what you don't want to see. Pause at 4:44 or a little before, and you'll be able to see the skyscrapers of the city. Not only is Mount Chiliad at the top of the map, but the Skyscrapers are more towards the middle of the city, so there's still more. Look at the all the space that the draw distance renders. There's more behind it you can't even see because it's too far away. Look at all the distance. So no, it cannot be interpreted as small as SA, because that's f*cking retarded. SA had a really small map with terrible draw distance. GTA 5 has a huge map with great draw distance. Your logic is so flawed it's laughable. I don't think he's going to respond, with anything legit. IDAS Leader
Ok, I'm gonna end this once and for all, I shall use a simple paint picture to demonstrate. Using math I have converted the Area into perfect squares for simplicity sake. This picture is 1000 x 1000 Each maps area is as goes, Smallest to largest. GTA IV: 72 miles GTA San Andreas 142 miles (Rounded up for simplicity, Was originally 13.9) Red Dead Redemption 282 miles GTA V 492 miles Actually SA is 13.9 square miles. IDAS Leader
/Thread That does not prove anything, but the fact that you're desperate to prove your ignorance. Due to SA's bad drawn distance, slow cars (Bikes are even better), and graphics, it seems bigger. When you have a real life drawn distance, Fast cars, and HD graphics it seems small. All that person did was prove our point, by going to the center of the San Andreas using helicopter and levitating only about 150 feet in the year. If you could see the whole map from that distance, it's small. This is in game proof: Don't believe me right? If you have GTA SA and GTA V fly heli across both map's , or run across both of them. Running in SA: took 19 Running in 5: took me 60 Flying use a hunter or maverick: SA 2:00 Flying use a hunter or maverick: 5 took about 5:00 If you can't just research my friend's youtube video, San Andreas is not bigger than Gta 5's map proof heli fly over part1, and San Andreas is not bigger than Gta 5's map proof heli fly over part 2. P.S.: No you can't just put a map over another and call it a comparison, it's called in game proof, and in game measurements

IDAS Leader
Where exactly did the give that ''49 square miles'' number for V. Any source cut I ain't seen none in this whole thread or any other for that sake. That is inaccurate. I used math and square roots, using the numbers R* gave us.RDR is indeed bigger than SA. I don't know, It was in an article some time ago. Exactly.. so until you can show a jetpack.. there is no jetpack. The same goes for the map size. I've followed every piece of info and don't remember Rockstar every saying the size of V's map in terms of actual numbers. So if you're going to stand behind that idea, try to find the proof. It has been a Well established standard among the internet and the alike, If it means so much to you, Go find this article yourself, I'm just using the numbers presented to me by the resources I have. You're the one who claims to have the information, you should be the one presenting it as evidence to convince those of us who don't just believe everything we see. I believe in number concluded by the people in Los Santos size thread as I've followed it and it all was logical. Therefore I do not believe in your fictional number which is NOT ''well established among internet and the alike'' without any proof. It means nothing to me, I just wanted to see some evidence that what you're telling is true, and you have none. http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/the-gta-v-map-is-how-big-well.453341129/ I'll add more as I find them. That's not officially from Rockstar, it's just someone saying ''Hey, they said.... ''. Basically the same thing you did here. http://www.scotsman.com/lifestyle/technology/new-gta-v-release-tipped-to-rake-in-1bn-in-sales-1-3081943 The new game revolves around a satirical recreation of southern California. With players able to switch between three protagonists, the 49-square-mile world boasts a welter of activities, such as scuba diving with sharks and hijacking trains." Well, the in-game stats aren't the same for every game, because it's a fact that you can fit 3.5 SA's in the GTA 5 map, so there's no way SA is that big compared to V. Neo Arcadia
Are people seriously trying to argue against the in-game stats? Just accept that V really isn't that much bigger than SA. I bet V would actually be smaller if all of those filler mountain ranges were removed. You got it pretty much right but they are not too accurate, there is NO WAY the second island from IV is about the same size as San Andreas San Fierro, maybe you should get bigger maps of the 3 GTA's so you can scale them properly

lol232
Blaine County alone is bigger than SA. Also, the LC map is pretty much close to SA. ......... San An didn't have random encounters. San An didn't have strangers and freaks. It didn't have as much to interact with in the world. It didn't have as much detail. It may have had a lot of interiors, but they were all very similar and very empty. The few interiors you get to access in V are much more realistic and detailed, rather than the empty shells with 10 items scattered around them, like we had in San An. There's a lot of blindness to the detail in V on this forum. I just can't understand it. tl;dr: you're wrong, OP. -SNIP- Not in order, but f*ck it *There aren't so many hidden challenges, but we have ~60 random events *I can agree with that, fortunately a DLC is coming out *There were flight schools in SP. Also, you can just easily increase skills in MP, I took me a century to maximise driving skill on SP, but on MP it only took me less than 2 hours There's no point of boat schools since there is no boat skill. *Honestly, I couldn't care less about no Triathlon's in MP, we have a sh*tload of races anyway. *You couldn't buy Chop Shops in GTA SA anyway, what are you talking about? *I really, really don't care about dating. *That was only on PC and XBOX version of SA, and on GTA IV PC version, Custom Radio will be on the PC version. *If you want to increase combat skills, AmmuNation is your palce to be in both SP and O *All these kinds of side-missions were boring and repetitive. We actually did have Taxi missions in V *What are you smoking? You can get all the cool clothes for 'roleplaying' after finishing the final mission, simple (Roleplaying is pretty dump though) GTA V had a massive amount of clothing and such, GTA V's wardrobe was far more superior. *Horse betting? Well GTA V we had Stocks (if you're talking about money), we had golf, tennis, darts and other minigames. Nightlife was sh*tty in SA IMO, very f*cking pointless.
