Ahh! In one of the first missions as Franklin when you

go with Lamar to repo the motorcycle and get ambushed by all the gang members

, there is a reference to Zapho. As you hop the fence towards the garage where the bike is supposed to be, there is a man that stumbles out of an open garage seeming delirious and basically just insane, BUT when he sees you guys he says "Away, away, away from me! Zapho agents!"

 

You guys remember that?! I'm thinking either there is an "alien lord" named Zapho, or the actual race of the aliens is called Zapho.

I have it 100% complete, so I tried all the phone numbers and just got a 56k modem sound, some of you guys are probably too young to recognize it lol, but it's not alien.

On 532-555-4172 I got some guys voice saying "Thanks for calling, for hours and availabilty check out website" so that must be on a billboard or something in game too.

So, i have been lurking here for the past couple of days, and decided to try and figure this out myself. I decided to grab a boat and visit all four corners of the sea, as far as i could go. But, as i neared the first marker i had set, my boat just died and sank. Has anyone else had this happen? Did i just go past the border of the game, and it said "no"?

so i beat gta 5 a few days ago and i spent my 3 day weekend to playing the sh*t out of this game, and yesterday I hit 100% completion

 

i messed around last night to find the UFO easter eggs (1 above zancudo, 1 above chilad, and lights above zancudo)

anyway i was boating way off the coast late at night (in the game), and the radio on the boat started stutering and fing up. I heard someone read a ton of numbers for a minute, but it was really quiet to try and write down what he was saying

after that there were beeps that were WAAAY louder than the speech for another min.

It is curious you mentioned this, actually I happened to get online in solo mode to see what it was about... Well I did a few jobs then next he said to go to a clothing store so I was driving and even on foot I was hearing what snded like people talking like in the video you posted, almost like through headsets, (but this is solo, not supposed to be anyone else in there) I figured interference on the car radio is not unusual but why was I still hearing this on foot ... It was weird to say the least but it didnt have these beeping sounds, maybe I didnt listen long enough, it was so annoying I just dropped out of the game.

it took me like 4 hours of sailing back and forth to get to the right spot, but i finally did it. when you get in the ''signal bubble'', even if the radio is off it will start to jitter and distort. about 5 seconds later some microsoft sam-ish voice starts reading off letters nad numbers, i turned my volume up and wrote them all down:

there's another few seconds of silence, and then the 'radio distortion' starts. the most important thing i noticed is that it isn't radi distortion or morse code; it's a musical key followed by some kind of raw radio broadcast.

there's a few seconds of a high-pitched musical callsign at the end and beginning of the signal. After that, it goes completely silent.

more details; i did this while playing as michael, but just to replicate what OP did. i still dont know if it makes any difference

the in-game phone said it was just after 2 AM when the signal started playing

if I'm right, the bubble can only appear in a certain time (probably 12-3 AM, knowing how the other easter eggs use the same process) and maybe a certain weather (it was perfectly clear but I don't know how it was for op/anyone else this happened to, so I have nothing to compare to)

the 'beeping' sounded a lot like a fax machine. there was about 2-3 seconds of a high-pitched musical key, then another maybe 45 seconds of monotonic beeps going up and down in pitch (best i can describe it). then the same/similar musical key at the end, then... silence

As I posted earlier, a similar thing happened to me whilst playing as Franklin & driving to the clothing store for a job in an online solo session. I didnt hear the oscillating beacon sounds but the interference and 1 or 2 people talking. It cant just be the radio because getting out of the car, the radio would be off and I could still hear the sounds walking towards the clothing store. It was VERY annoying, I thought the game or online solo session was glitched so I dropped out of that session. Never had anything like this happen in normal play yet.

I've come to the conclusion that some vehicles such as the Rebel have a CB Radio in them and that is what the random police or trucker type radio noise is.

I've also heard short CB (radio amateurs') messages while driving around, overimposed on normal radio station signals, in several occasions.

They just seem like bits of normal conversations, not police-related, when both male and female voices can be featured.

Sometimes you hear one voice saying something and another one answering, but they're always very short messages and they don't seem to make ay sense to me (always happened while I wasn't ready to understand something in English, which is not my language).

 

Another detail:

to me, it always happened in Trevor's "habitat": never in the souther half of the map, I think, even if people speaking while walking around could make it difficult to discern those brief messages when you're in the middle of the main city.
