creepy easter egg: signals in ocean

It appears to be aiming at something circular, you can see the black bar at the top (sky) then the horizon followed by a lighter colour which covers the rest of the image (ground?) then you can see the black circle in the middle

 

edit: My theory is it's a hint to the location of the already discovered underwater UFO.

Has anyone tryed to fly up over that spot? Looks like an altimeter on the right side, says 226? Feet or meters? It also says cruice, 88% guessing that is cruice speed, and 88% trust? Hmmm, realy interesting to say the least.

 

Did think that maybe one could dile the numbers in real world to, but I live in norway, so doubt it would work...

 

One crate has a note that says cal for more info. It was in the old jetpack tread...

Does this play ingame or from the tv's themselves? If it's all ingame, I can try to locate this area [i don't have 100% completion yet, so I can't promise anything] But I have a capture card. I Could perhaps get better audio? I'd like to get the exact location down though.

Or a depth gauge, and its underwater.

 

also the number your talking about on the note when rang made a similar fax sound to the SSTV signal.

On the other thread people are saying the old weapons cheat gives you SSTV type signals - 4825550100

 

These threads have made me join, I can't contribute much because I'm not 100%, but I'll do my best to consolidate information between sources when it seems helpful.

I tried 0472 and it gave me UNKNOWN and says busy [probably because I dont have 100%]

Yeah you're going to have to be a little more specific than "the north west corner". I drove out to the exact north west point of the map, then my sub got sucked under and I drowned. I don't know why you didn't just set a waypoint and show us.

Yes anybody can call 482 555 0100 and hear the code yourselves. I've no way to decode it with SSTV though so maybe somebody else can help???!!!!!

Sorry I don't know how old you guys are but the "alien sound" you get when calling these numbers is nothing more than the sound You will get when calling a fax number in real life.It's also the same sound when you are using a dial-up internet connection. There is nothing misterious about it:

The other thread (Jetpack Hunt Continued) is reporting that the weapons code is NOT SSTV but instead is modem/fax connections. No pic to verify though and not at home so I can't listen to the sound myself.

 

If it is modem/fax sounds that means it could still be carrying information - I mean, we all had dial up back in the day right and we sure as hell got information out of it. It'd be a bit more painful to decode than SSTV though.

 

edit: and now people are saying it's the standard dial up connection sequence. Lame.

Honestly I don't think it's a forcefield, have you ever landed on the red radar tower on GTA 4? I think it has the same problem, because when it's moving around underneath you when you land on it, you stay perfectly still... probably just a bug that you can actually stay sitting on it.

Nah, if you shoot it, you can see the bullets make a special effect

Yep if you shoot it you see sparks like it's something electric. Also the bullet holes are floating above the aircraft.

Could someone open up the game and search for these strings? Or is there a binary interpretation of each number that may make binary code?
