Can you cheat in this game? Like actual cheat, where you can save the game and also still get some achievments? I remember in GTA4 you could cheat and the cheats would disable 2-4 achievments, and you could still save but your game until made new would never get those certain achievments. Is GTA5 something like that or does it disable all saving and disable ALL achievments?

Sort of, which is why I probably won't cheat. Especially if you can't save your game lol. If I want to cheat and lose all playing rights to the game, I'll maybe do that in a different playthrough.

I love the regenerative health, but with regen health they had to lower the damage threshold by a loooottttttt so now 1 bullet causes more damage and many cases if you break cover and move to cover a single bullet can end your mission in a second.

First I'll finish the storyline with no cheats. After that I'll make another savegame just for cheat and mayhem.

I'm already 100% complete and I almost have all the trophies too, except gold medals, stunt jumps, and the arm dealing thing. I never use cheats in GTA unless I do everything in the story first. Then I screw around all I want.

I was high when I started this topic so I completely forgot about it

Anyways, the poll results are what I expected. Like I said, this is my first time beating story mode with out any cheats but I'm only like 37% ... After I'm at 100%, that's when I'll have a little fun with the cheats

I use cheats because I play games to have fun and I don't find it fun having to drive around for 5 minuites after a heist losing cops.

In that time I could have disabled the cops and be having fun driving around the mountains.

I find the cheats to be useless in this game so far. The list, last time I looked, was short and one of them didn't work. I used it on my first playthrough for a vehicle. The Comet code didn't work and the other did work, forget which auto it was. On my second playthrough and not using any codes.

Yeah I can see your point...But honestly, the more I play, the easier it's becoming to lose the cops. You just have to be quick with finding an alley or not be on a main road and hide. The part I dislike is the flashing which takes forever--but then again sometimes it's not as long

I used cheats in all the others because it makes free roaming fun. I'm not using cheats on this even though I already beat the game, Until I get all the trophies because I'm on ps3 and IDK about xbox but if you use cheats on ps3 you can't get trophies so that's the only reason I'm not. Soon as I get the trophies I'll use them though.

Absolutely there is no way I'm gonna wait for a GTA game to come out after a lengthy development cycle, then use cheats to make it easy and dull. Regenerative health and checkpoints already make it easy enough.

I actually like that there are manual cheat codes instead of the way it saves on the phone. For 1, it brings me back to the old days with vice city and san andreas where I would print out all the cheats on a peace of paper LOL

I always beat GTA games with no cheats then on the next go around I go ape sheet with them. I just like playing through the game naturally first to see how it all pans out. Once there are no more secrets the gloves come off and its a way to keep the game entertaining for me at least.

Hell yea.. this is the first time I have decided to not use cheats until I have completed every mission and side mission and it makes the game so much more challenging and fun.

I will use the fun cheats once Im done with the story though. Like weather cheats and all. But I wont be using any health or ammo cheats (it takes away from the fun).

Cheat codes aren't really necessary to beat the game anymore. The old GTA games were WAY harder than 4 & 5 so cheat codes were kind of a must, but not now.

This was the easiest game of the series if you needed cheats to beat it you really suck and should find a new hobby :colgate:

well the storymode is so easy that even people who cheat in every game can beat it without cheating.

Of course I will use cheats in free roam just for fun.

I never really used cheats in GTA to finish the game or to "help" me. I did, however use them from time to time when I was really bored and just wanted to fool around. GTA V doesn't seem to have any really fun cheats so I haven't even considered using any this time around, even for fun.

I used to use cheats before GTA IV. Then when I got IV I started without cheats but ended up using the ones that didn't disable achievements until I got them. But for the most part I only used the car spawns and weapons cheats if I got busted. Now in GTA V I haven't even bothered to use cheats because you don't lose weapons or ammo if you die and if you get busted you keep your weapons but because of quick saves its easy to save quickly then mess around with cop chases and if you die or get busted you just reload and bam you're good. I might mess around with the cheats in free roam but there is absolutely no need for them for the story. Especially cause all achievements are disabled for the current session. What id like to know is if you spawn a buzzard and achievements are disabled but you bring it to a hangar and save, can you reload and keep the chopper and have your achievements reenabled?

This game is fairy easy to beat actually really easy to beat.

If you put suppressors on your weapons and choose the stealth missions angles then you can do most of the game without the cops bothering you.
