Making Money after you finish GTA 5?

I can't believe you had to make a new account just to bump this.

Answer: no you can't make serious money after "finishing" GTA V. Any amount you get from daily income or grinding business missions is peanuts compared to starting a new game and doing it right.

Save Lester's assassination missions for after the story. Even before you do the first one, Lester will tell you about investing your money in the stock market, and investing more is better.

You only have to do the first one (Hotel) to advance the story (and you can even make some money of that, by doing all the side quests first)

If you do it right, you'll have at least half a billion credits on all 3 characters, and you can easily buy everything in the game.

Here's a comprehensive guide on how to do it right:

https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Lester's_Assassinations

And these are useful for getting the most out of the heists:

This one shows you the best crew choice for the best paying approach with no casualties: https://www.gamepur.com/guides/gta-v-guide-how-get-maximum-possible-share-each-heist

This one shows which crew makes you the most money for both approaches (scroll about half way down): https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Heist_Crew_Members_in_GTA_V

I prefer the approaches with no casualties, as I have forgotten to pick up Norm's bag a few times, and had a lower take. I recommend avoiding Norm for Vangelico and Paleto and using McReary instead.

Make sure to kifflom with Michael during the story with the Epsilon line of missions.  This money with the assasinations takes Michael over a billion.  From time to time I make 20-40 million on the stock market by investing the billion, taking the bed for 6 hours advance, don't save, get up and see if the stock rose.  If not try again a few times.  No luck then just exit without saving and try again another day.

Businesses and that's pretty much it. It seems slow but it's still faster than grinding in online (pre Cayo) so can you really complain? If the grind is boring to you you shouldn't even be playing anymore because the game itself is no longer fun to you replay the story or play another game. The way I see it the post story content is there to be a better version of online content for solo players. You should be able to get a car if you grind but just give up on grinding for something like the Golf Club that's basically there to be a high score IMO replay the game and invest differently and you'll have enough. First time players rush the story and end up with like 30 million. Simple players follow the guide and skip all the fun side content till the end so they can own more stuff and have a bigger arbitrary number. Smart players know when and what to invest in so they can enjoy all the content throughout the story and buy everything by the end.

It's sad that there's so many cool ways to make cash that the player can discover that never get mentioned because it's not a lot of cash and it's not as effective as the boring min/max method. A thread like this could go on for a while but someone always posts "that's pointless because it's not as effective as saving F's assassination missions for the end" and then people forget that the fun of these games is the wide variety of activities you can do in an open world and not simulating financial planning.

If you want to make money because you play for the things you do and not the results of them here are some other ways to make money in single player that are fun and can be useful early game:

  1. Rob Liquor Store
  2. Rob ATM Users
  3. Rob Weed Farm
  4. Rob Armored Truck
  5. Underwater Wreck Treasure
  6. Taxi Driver
  7. The Fun kind of Stock Market Manipulation (lower the stock price of your company of choice by destroying their property)
  8. Locate Collectibles
  9. Street Races
  10. Hunting

I would love to hear what other people have found and some businesses listed like the Toxic Waste Collection or Trevors Air Field. Single player doesn't get enough credit IMO people view the side content as a waste because of Online and then they over focus on the sloppy storyline and can't enjoy the rest of the game.
