A GTA without a signature soundtrack, ay?

What's this little melody playing, that's not a f*cking GTA soundtrack. What happened to the heavy beats that gave you the GTA feel while you're waiting for the game to load like in IV.

I've kinda wondered this myself to be honest. Plus the music is so low in volume it takes a good while - almost until the game finishes loading - until I can actually register what is playing!

What's weird is that rockstargames still hadn't a bounced the "official soundtrack" on their website? In the music section the official theme. I wonder what happened

I love the theme playing in the opening credits after Michael leaves the therapists office. Why did they not keep that for the loading screen.

It has a theme. They just don't play it during the loading screen.

Saying this is a "first" for GTA is a little misleading, as them doing it in GTA IV was a first for the series as well.

Yeah it's weird. The xmb music is different, the loading music is different, the opening game music is different and the pause menu music is also different.

 

Wish they just stuck to one central theme like previous games and where the hell is the mission complete music? Completing missions just doesn't feel the same without a little jingle at the end.

Its the worst soundtrack in the games history. The rock station has the sh*ttiest rock you can imagine. 2 f*ckin Bob Segar tracks, Phil Collins, and quite possibly the sh*ttiest Queen song. The only redeeming song that somewhat fits is Photograph with Def Leppard. Wheres Pink Floyd?, Zepplin, AeroSmith, Ozzy / Sabbath, ACDC, Motorhead, or Maiden? I am a metal head, so a nice metal station would of been fantastic, but if you are going to be listening to rock, please include some good tunes.

 

I don't even like much rap, but if you are gonna add Tupac, throw in Changes, or some Eminem, Forget about Dre and so fourth.

I actually love the loading screen music, I think there's something very evocative and alluring about it (listen to the full version on youtube) but it's odd there's no one central theme.

 

Agreed there should be a mission complete jingle though.

I think the rock station was meant to be mellow to fit in with Michael's attitude. Vinewood Boulevard and Channel X are meant to cover the more aggressive stuff, and then there's Radio Mirror Park if those stations don't give you the feeling you want. There are tons of Rock stations, just no metal stations.
