Taxi cabs

unable to skip ride after skipping 2 or 3 of them. its pretty annoying. i had reduced myself to the fix of loading the game. but just recently that didnt work neither. are we only allowed a small hadful of taxi ride skips per day or something?

 

anyone got some info on this situation?

 

also i almost never have luck hailing a cab. it was real easy in IV. but now its like they just keep driving even without passengers. gotta call em or catch up to em at a red light

Plus the lack of being able to get a cab ride then yank out the driver and kill em for your money back. that sucks. ive done it like 30 times atleast and they never have any cash whatsoever

Skipping the ride costs extra money, and it's a higher fee the farther away your destination is. Are you broke?

What button are you pressing? I don't remember what button it was in GTA IV (nor do I know what system you're playing on) but for me, if I hit RIGHT on the d-pad when anywhere even remotely near a taxi, he whistles and the cabbie slams on the brakes. I've even had occupied cabs stop for me, and thrown the other passenger out so that I can get in and have him take me to my destination.

I've only tried it once, but the one time I did it he charged me $27 when we arrived, and dropped $27 when I chased him down and killed him immediately thereafter. I only do it if I'm really hard up for cash, though. I feel bad for the dude, he just wasted half his work day driving me up in to the desert just so I can grab a plane and fly it back in to the city

nah i got a sh*t ton of money, so that cant be the problem. and i keep tryna kill em for my money back. maybe thats why i cant skip? lke it comes back then goes away. maybe im just trying to often to skip the ride. but i feel i should be able to every time. right?

Yeah, I skip virtually every cab ride I take. Seems like every time I try and actually watch the trip, the driver gets himself stuck somewhere before he makes it more than ten blocks from where he picks me up.

If you have over $200,00 Go and buy the Taxi Depot if you want. You will need Franklin to buy it and once you buy it as Franklin You get free Taxi rides as him. But the other Protags Trevor and Micheal still have to pay for the fares.

I run it on ps3. and own the cab company. do you use the cab very often? i try n use it all the time and still run into this damn limited skip problem.. and by dodgy button's you mean a diff controller type or like my controller is old and dieing

Yer i use the cab a-lot when i'm feeling too lazy to drive to long distances.

 

And by dodgy i mean: are you using a Official Playstation controller or are you using some dodgy 3rd party one.

 

Or this: Controller aging and buttons are starting to act up a little.
