Just some advice man, from what I can tell the BAWSAQ stock market is influenced by the Rockstar Social Club and isn't very dependable at all. I think it's mainly gonna be used for when online launches. Use the LCN stock market instead as those are influenced by the in game activities and things going on in single player.

This doesn't jibe with my experience.... Before 1st assassination job i loaded up on the competiing company's stock and it was only available on tbe bawsaq exchange.... It bumped up the predited amount (80%) in the predicted time (20 real minutes)... Dropped fast after 20 mins... Don't wait to sell.... I reloaded and redid mission to get the full bump.

 

Why would this stock be affected by single player actions if the bawsaq exchange is supposed to be "real".

Considering I played it while BAWSAQ was down (bought the stock beforehand), I can confirm you can still get the bump in stock price, you just have to be online to see the market (and therefore sell your stock to get the money), so an online connection is required at least for a short time to purchase and sell said stock. I would assume the stocks related to missions are affected by single-player actions on the single-player level, and only affects the specific console, but outside the mission it's affected by other player actions, such as mass stock purchases (though not affected much by one person, as it has to factor in the millions of potential stock buyers [game owners]). Rob a jewelry store, and the BAWSAQ for Vangelico goes down for everyone, but not by much unless thousands of players hit the store within a certain timespan.

 

I find it stupid they tied the stock missions to anything but LCN stocks, though; for anyone playing the mission during the BAWSAQ being fixed (pretty much everyone), their ability to capitalize on the stock prices is hampered considerably.
