This is the worst GTA game yet

It's not the best GTA and not the worst either. I agree they could have done a lot of things better and the series is not as good as it was on the PS2 days. But..still it's better than the boring GTA IV.

This is the worst GTA because you can't buy hot dogs and the weapon customisation isn't extensive enough, despite the fact that this is the first game in the entire series with that feature.

This is totally bullsh*t. Sorry for saying that. But GTA V is maybe one of the best GTA´s ever. Yeah sure GTA San Andreas was also great because it combines all 3 Citys in San Andras but the citys are not that big. Of course the Cops are OP. It's GTA! Cops are playing a big role in GTA. In GTA IV we all use the Simple Native Trainer, we don't even know, how the cops really react. Lack of Interiors. Well i can understand that. But keep in mind. That's not Sims. GTA is all about Cars and Cops and shooting. About the cars, yeah maybe that's a little problem. But that's a main GTA problem. Still remember GTA IV? The whole City was stuffed with Taxis. Maybe there are some things, that needs to be patched. But i think everything is fine.

Just to annoy you: It's the best GTA for me. Even better than San Andreas.. not to mention IV. Of course there is always something that I don't like but they are so minor that I ignore these.

In my opinion San Andreas is still the worst GTA (story wise) but beside the story (which is so far great in GTA V) I can agree - most of the stuff they showed in trailers is only cool right there. As soon as I've played the first minutes of the game I thought "that doesn't feel like a GTA game" and this feeling is still around.

 

1) The police … seriously. WTF. I mean the idea behind the system is great, but the coders of that part need to be fired. Also the game testers. Police cars that are as fast as a tuned infernus? 1 star for doing nothing but starring at a pedestrian? Alerting the police instantly when firing a silenced weapon out in the desert?

 

2) The driving. The physics are better then in IV imho. But some of the stuff they had in IV is missing now. What I don't get is, why isn't the analogue stick working? Touch it softly and a quad for example makes a 360 instead of a slightly turn. Same for walking. Why is my character always walking with the same speed? This is why the anaologue stick was f*cking invented ages ago

 

3) Missing interiors. Most of the old interiors were cool in IV. I had several great shootouts with cops there (hospital for example). I miss the mall from Vice City too. Also they said there are strip malls… yeah - but with only 1 open store

 

4) Liquor stores - you cannot buy alcohol there. Seriously?

 

5) Heists. The game is about heists. Beside the story you cannot rob sh*t. Just those candy-liquor-stores and 24/7. In the f*cking town are even 24/7s that are closed. Is this some sort of humor I don't get? And the banks. You can enter them. But you cannot rob them…

 

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Nearly everything beside the story / missions is a huge joke. And not even a funny one

 

But don't get me wrong. I still enjoy playing V and yeah, it's a great game but lots of it could have been improved easily

• If you stay in an area for too long standing still it goes empty and noone comes through. I'm currently standing in downtown and there's one car driving past every 30 seconds.
• Can't buy from food stores, hot dog stands etc.
• Weapon customization isn't as extensive as i'd thought. I was hoping for multiple silencers etc. (the better the silencer, the less damage reduction).
• I seem to be seeing the same 5-10 cars in each big part of the map.
• Lack of enterable buildings.
• Can't wheelie any motorcyles or push bikes.
• Shooting while driving is a nightmare. It is damn near impossible to hit something with a single shot even if they are stationary. You have to just unload your weapon and hone in on the target. Sucks
• The police are OP, and you die from like one shot.

From the previews, the game seemed simply amazing and full of features. Now it looks like Rockstar made an empty shell of a game with DLC that they will sell for the features that we should've had at launch.

Well about dying at one shot is REALISTIC, not like in IV, well maybe Niko was Chuck Norris' cousin. You can stay alive with 5 or 6 shots, and in V, is realistic because 1 shot in the heart or somewhere else you die almost instantly.( or headshots)

Yeah then when we bring up something that isn't realistic, you say "its a game its not supposed to be".

Car damage is unrealistic

Police AI is unrealistic including shooting accuracy, response time, being alerted when there are no witnesses, shooting on sight ect ect

Nah not worse than IV not for me anyway. The only thing that stands out for IV other than the obvious graphics improvement and the new engine was the story. V story is the best by miles. IV was good V better.

 

It is my favourite GTA now, the game isn't perfect there is many areas some the OP pointed out that I would have liked improving.

 

Not my favourite game comes very close though.

I totally agree with your points but I don't think it is the worst game.

 

I really disagree with people calling it a 'masterpiece' though and It certainly isn't a 10/10 game.

 

I studied the art of Video Game design at uni and notice a lot of imperfections in textures, aliasing, pop-in etc, things that should definitely affected the overall score, seems that just because it bears the GTA brand people are quick to jump on the Rockstar are gods wagon. A lot of posters are slamming people for preferring GTA IV's features and gameplay over the new entry and claiming that IV sucks really bad and that GTA V is the greatest thing ever but they were probably the ones who gave GTA IV 10/10 after release.

 

Like I said, I do really like the game but the OP makes some good points, There are also features that were present in the game-play trailers that haven't made the cut. For this I would of marked GTA V down a few points.

Disagree wholeheartedly. I dont care if you CAN do it. Dont care! You want a medal tough guy? I CAN do it too? Is it ideal? HELL NO. The cursor pops up just before the gun goes off. Its a broken system admit it. The drive by mechanic just sucks. Its an easy fix though so maybe they will. Why cant we hold the gun out the window and aim it at people without shooting like we do outside of the car? How awesome would that be? Imagine being on a bike and just pointing the gun at someone, then shooting! These are the types of ideas that make games better, not just saying "you suck at the game."
