Jets do not need throttle held down all the time!

I've seen this in numerous videos -- people steal a jumbo jet or military jet only to have it stall out and claim that there is some sort of tracking/auto shutdown.

 

Jets (as in real life) cannot run at 100% throttle all of the time. With the military jet I've flown around for hours, and no issues occur if you use the after burner sparingly. JUST FLY without it!

 

You can also switch between rockets and guns with L3. Missiles automatically lock on to enemies, and you can retain your 5 star wanted level forever (and fly it away when you no longer want it.)

 

Landing is a bit tricky, but just reduce your airsped and make corrections with the ailerons only (L1,L2) and don't forget the landing gear. You can also take the military jet into the hanger. Although it is a little glitchy. I seem to have two military jets in my last save. They also seem to repair themselves through saves.

 

Best way to get them is the simple way -- break into fort Z from the northern side, go past the gate, hang two lefts and go into the hanger. Jets are right there, and exit the fort low on the eastern side away from the SAMs.

 

One other random tip -- if you start the mission to grab the military hardware right outside fort z (grab the truck while at the gate) you can roam the fort freely. Kinda cool. Wish I had a video of when I did it.
