So I bought the PS3/GTA V bundle...

...And I did notice an improvement with performance, but it's still not perfect. The FPS drops aren't as bad as they were during my experience with the game on my x360, but they're still there nonetheless. I also noticed less pop ins and texture issues, but again, not perfect. Don't listen to anyone claiming they haven't experienced any FPS issues, because either they don't know what a drop in framerate looks like or they're in denial.

 

*NOTE* I'm not saying the PS3 is better, because I could careless which system I had. I'm 99.9% sure the only reason the game suffered from framerate on my xbox360 was because my xbox was nearly 5 years old. I figured buying a new system would make a noticeable difference with the game and it did but not to the extent I wanted it to. What I'm saying is, whether I bought a new PS3 or a new xbox 360 wouldn't make a difference, I just chose PS3 mainly because I have a lot of friends who have PS3's.

 

It is unfortunate but considering how huge the game is and how detailed it is, I guess I can't complain. Now that I've tried the game on both systems, I can pretty much confirm the differences are so minor that they're not even worth discussing.

 

What I wanna know is whether or not R* can do anything about the framerate? Is it even possible to make a patch for a game to improve the framerate? I doubt it but I hope I'm wrong, I just find it hard to believe. I guess our only hope is if they will make xbox one/PS4 versions of the game, but that's doubtful as well.

Uhm. You know what? I own a High End PC and agree with you that GTA V runs kind of sluggish at around 25FPS avg.

But I don´t really understand what you guys expected it to run at on Consoles that were released about 7 Years ago?

To me my PS3 Version never dropped below 22FPS (used Monitoring Tools because I was kind of curious about its overall Performance) and I am honestly impressed with what they were able to squeeze out of this old junk of hardware.

I mean... they never claimed that this Game would be running with 60+ FPS... and still people bought it for the HYPE and now are disappointed for whatever reason...

Come on? Really?

I understand your frustration, but in the end of the day it is an awesome Game.

(Guess what? I own 3 Copies of the Game and have 2 PS3 Consoles [1 Original 60GB Fat Lady PS3 and the 120GB Slim Model] and it runs fine on both on top of that I have seen the XBox Version of the Game over at a friends house and was honestly impressed as it ran even smoother [at least it looked like it])

 

In general I agree with you though... this Game is something that should have also come out on the PC alongside the PS3 and XBox 360 Versions.

It is a shame that R* still drives every1 crazy with that old a*s Strategy they´ve been having for years now - Hype the game big time and release it on the consoles first to make everyone want the game so badly that they decide to get it on the Consoles nevertheless and finally put out the highly anticipated PC Version of it to make People eventually get the Game they orignally wanted as well.

Twice the profit with 1 Game... sad but true.

I also have a high end pc, i also have an 8 year old xbox and no im not in denial but i have had NO fps drops. I havent tried the ps3 ( i own one but none of my friends got the ps3 edition ).

 

But i do agree they should have released it on the 3 main platforms at the same time.

The only time I really noticed FPS dropoff issues is when I'm in the water....more specifically

when retrieving the submersible for the merryweather heist

other than that, I've experienced nothing else.
