Clearing up something about Online..

I keep hearing people complain about not wanting to play with 16 people servers and random peds, are we to assume that there will be no private party/ invite only rooms?

No there will definitely be private party, that's what I'm doing so I can roam on my own and turn the cops off like in IV

they have said many times that it is all being done on dedicated servers now. the amount of games and the settings for those games are down to the server creator (in this case R*) not the client.

It's good that they're doing it this way, otherwise the servers would just explode once online launched, because of the massive flow of people creating servers and such..

How many players are available? I've read that there are 16 players, but I've also read in some game modes you can have up to 32.

Can someone confirm or deny this?

The max amount of players per game mode seems to be just speculation as no article ( at least the ones I've read) claim to confirm the player count for them.

Rockstar Social club is a huge part of this you know? they are trying to promote the living f*ck out of the social club and how you can team up with your social club buddies and all that so don't worry my man you will definitely be able to play with your buds.

it'll probably be way worse now then. i had the same issues and running 3mb connection actually worked okay. but now were gonna have to meet their dedicated servers demands and get f*cked

the back of my game box says its up to 16 players, and you will still be able to create private party modes like in gta iv, you can create your own matches for you can your friends to play is what the online trailer says so if you couldn't play with your friends and it was just random they wouldn't of said friends. that is how im looking at it i could be wrong i guess we wont truly no till the 1st! im sure they wont let us down whatever they have planned.

You have to steal Rockstars servers if you want to host a private match.

Or they could just go to their official website, read the official article about Online, and watch the official video about it. And after all that, maybe even understand what they just read and watched, properly.

When you go to GTA Online you will switch to your online character and it will automatically switch you to an online server. Once you're in the server you might be able to set up your own private lobby but I doubt it. R* said when you go online it will automatically match you with your friends and you will have the option to invite friends as well.

We don't know for sure yet.The GTA V box says 16 players max but i heard some people found something about 32 players in the game code.MAYBE Rockstar found some magic way (let's be honest here they are all wizards otherwise this game would run at 5 frames a second on current gen lol) to squeeze more players in last minute.Either way,32 would be f*ckin mayhem but i guess 16 players is also not that bad.

Unfortunately no search elsewhere has led me any closer to the answer to this. I have yet to meet a person who isn't looking forward to private lobbies.

consoles usually have pretty low max player limits, PCs however are much higher. Might have to buy this game on pc if its cool, the advantage there is that if the requirements are high there wont be too many 12 year olds playing because they cant afford the hardware and their parents often wont buy high end computers for them. haha! I dont see 16 people on a map this large being much fun but maybe the block certain areas off or something, cant wait to find out!
