Not my opinion, fact. Any moron with more than 10 hrs worth of gameplay time could kill hundreds of cops in GTA IV (In just one run) before getting taken down. Now they actually present a challenge, as real life law enforcement would to people who break the law in the manner that the protagonists of GTA do. Sit down and shut the f*ck up if you don't like it. I've evaded 3, even 4 stars plenty of times now. You just have to use your brain, evidently something that none of you are capable of. Is (still with me?) not with escaping the cops, but rather how the f*ck did I get caught shooting someone (with a silenced weapon) on Mount Chilliad with NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (still with me?) witnesses AT ALL and I suddenly got a 1 star wanted level and it appears a cop is already (alf*ckINGready) at the top of the mountain with me in a f*cking cop car........ Watch that video the guy posted ffs the issue isnt with escaping them (its piss easy although annoying how a 1 star takes ages to disappear now and the police are drawn to wherever you decide to hide on the map) but rather with how the wanted system is broken and flawed. My only complaint, I was riding around in my car minding my own and I see a police chase and seen a car crash from across the street. Of course there was a shoot out right after. Im still sitting in my car and I get just a little bit closer to get a laugh and watch. I notice one of the cops turn and point his shotgun at me and I instantly get 2 stars just for watching. lol I've had 4-5 stars and drove around the entire map with 5 police cars on my ass no problem. I even stopped a few times and took some cops out and took their own car then continue the chase. Edit: For those that did the last Heist I got away from 3 stars with the big ass truck and drill on the back. If I can do that, and you cant get away with a car post your PSN so I know not to have you as my getaway driver online haha. It takes the fun out of the game. Even if you dont have the cops after you, if they crash into you, they blame it on you and try to kill you, even though its their fault. GTA V is good and all but the police scheme in GTA IV was way better than it is now, like seriously. Even if you're in the middle of the f*cking desert and you shoot a silenced weapon they're after you, like how the f*ck would they know? I call bullsh*t. GTA, sort out your f*cking game. So, if I happen to be (somehow) outrunning the cops with a Trashmaster, I can't even enter the garage since the Trashmaster doesn't have any modifications available for it. Obviously if people witness the crime, then yeah they can call the police, but this whole broken stealth/silencer thing and being in the middle of nowhere is ridiculous. It's strange how people say deal with it. I mean, what's the point going into the mountains and having fun stalking hikers when you have to evade every 30 seconds, thereupon hiding an additional 2 minutes. It's not an evading problem, it's an annoying, broken hindrance. Rockstar won't know any issues if we don't stick up for ourselves. OT: Well they made these mistakes (police behaviour) during the whole development process and the AI is a very tricky part of a game. I don't think it's easy "patchable" and would take them a big amount of time and money - but on the other hand they made a billion dollars last week so this is something they should do. And all the people who like the AI as is, shouldn't download the "patch" then. Hell, I would even pay $5 for a patch that fixes the cop AI for me. If you ever get 3 star wanted level, you can kiss your chances of escaping goodbye once the choppers come out. Thats not true. You just have to have a really fast car, or be good at hiding under bridges or behind buildings, etc. Its hard, but doable. I've outrun 3 stars plenty of times. For example, you can't just keep driving in a straight line. You have to make a lot of turns (and sharp ones) because the game will likely begin spawning cop cars in your way. Keeping watch on your minimap will tell you which turns you should make to avoid getting in their search cones. As for helicopters, that sh*t's difficult. Under a bridge or a heavily covered alley is your best bet. Also, it is almost impossible to shake them off while train surfing. Helicopters literally spawn anywhere and everywhere. There's no hiding. It took me more than 20 mins to lose my 5 star wanted level by camping on top of the goddamn train. This. And when in the alleys, turn off your car lights. Kind of like in real life too, a dodge charger isn't the same as a modded police charger when it comes to speed and performance! Best way to get rid of cops on your bumper is to drive in the opposite lane or by switching lanes, and hope the cars or trees clear them off your bumper when they smash into them. Killerdude Posted September 23, 2013 Share Posted September 23, 2013 (edited) The hyper speed ramming needs to go away, I can't take another cop car and get away because somehow they always get some magical boost of hyper speed to ram you, that and the psychic powers of knowing where you are at all times. For instance I kill someone get a star, lose sight and run off 25 blocks and hide in an alley, every cop on my radar converges on my hiding spot. I mean f*ck that's annoying. Cops definitely need tweaking. The police are challenging the same way a roach infestation is challenging sure it's hard, but it isn't fun, they are too easy to get and way too hard to lose.
