Alex Magana
I have honestly never had an issue like this. I have shot a sniper rifle from the side of the road full of traffic and never got a star. I lit a car and patio on fire, no cops. Punched a guy in the face on the street for talking sh*t and no cops. Stolen many cars and haven't had stars. I highly doubt that me killing someone in the mountains with a silenced pistol will trigger a star http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci1tQUB2DUU GTA V has realistic gameplay & realistic police!! that's what R* wanted! GTA SA\IV between GTA V: [GTAIV]- Firing Up Vehicles And having -> 2 stars (Not Realistic). [GTAIV]- Shooting persons and cops -> 2-3 stars (Not Realistic). [GTAIV]- Stoling Cars - 1 star (Not Realistic at all). GTA V is improved, gta sa and gta iv gameplay between gta sa\iv is more like FAKE!! Laphin
They are irritating, that's not a lie. If you ever get 3 star wanted level, you can kiss your chances of escaping goodbye once the choppers come out. I do like that the cars actually have tactics to try and take you out, like boxing you in, or ramming you, but that's only cool after the first time. It's annoying otherwise. I've escaped 3 stars many times, only had 4 stars once and also escaped that without ever switching cars/repainting Yes seriously same here... 3 stars is nothing. It seems like a lot of people are having big problems with the challenge of this game... which is good on my part, I love the challenge of escaping a 4 star. It's easy if you just use a bit of common sense while plaing.. Be smarter than the cops.. (Don't let some A.I. officer get the better of you. 600noodles
YES... when they are right behind you they will "GET A BOOST IN SPEED" and ram you.. EVEN if your car is faster... i was driving a cop car, and yet, the police somehow managed to catch up to me, and then "boost their speed up past mine" to ram me.. so lame. it is EASY to get away from the cops, but its just fkn annoying at how unrealistic this game is. i know gta isnt supposed to be realistic, but this is BY FAR the most arcady GTA ever

Laphin
WHile i think the new light of sight based system is a great improvement over IV it still needs ALOT of tweeking. The problem now to me is the cops frustrating uncanny sixth sense. Just yesterday i had a 2 star wanted level and no choppers so i jumped up onto a roof before the patrol cars arrived in my area. They circled for a while then one just walks straight up the ladder to the roof where i am. How the f*ck could they know im there? I was out of sight and climbed up before they had even arrived...VERY annoying as i was enjoying the tension of them wandering around nearby then that sh*t happens.. THis also renders silenced weapons useless as even though i shoot a NPC out in the sticks AND with a silenced pistol the 50 still turn up. Great system that needs more work. You gotta think of it in a relaistic sense and point of view. Even though they are A.I. - you have to think of how real officers react as well. If police are called an area and you aren't around their job is to search the ENTIRE area, not just the ground. It's true, the A.I. of the cops do have a 1/3 glued to the player kinda 6th sense.. but it's very LIGHT. Because I've ran from the cops, turned a corner, and then hid behind a pillar... they turned the corner and ran right past me and kept going down the road, unaware of where I was. You have to kind of treat them as REAL, but not.. if that makes any sense. It DOES feel like they are 'casing' an area looking for you, and not all the time will they follow the direction you went when they arrive 'on the scene'... but a lot of the times, I guess depending on the area, they will 'case' it looking for you which is pretty damn awesome. That's easy to evade by the way. When they are behind you, and you are WATCHING behind you with the camera, if they line up to smack you.. WEAVE and it will break their attention from ramming into the back of you... All you have to do is jerk the steering wheel one good time to stop them from hitting you. GourangaMaster
I might add i do love the chases now with the new system but i hate losing the cops when your forced to stay in a sh*t slow snail vehicle for a mission. No matter how hard you try and duck under tunnels and bridges they are always on your tail because the vehicle can not be abandoned and its simply too slow to get out of view. I swear one mission i had like a 20 minute chase..haha. it was fun but damn hard.. Edited September 23, 2013 by GourangaMaster
Alec Skorpio
Man people really suck these days.Difficult, yeah. Don't get me wrong, it's hard. But jesus, people acting like it's impossible to escape. You just have to know how. In the city? Go inside alleys to avoid cops, under stuff to avoid helicopters (tunnels, garages, etc.)You can avoid helicopters if you switch your vehicle out while the police are looking for you, and then just lie low in the car BTWIn the countryside, the easiest way is to jump on a train. Rdp6`6
I really like the line of sight thing and i like how people can pull out their cellphones to alert police, but the police don't act as i thought they would. I thought we were told that we would have traffic stops i.e. if you run a redlight, or get caught speeding. As usual, the only way to get a cops attention is to bump into them, or run over someone. Or for example, if you just lost your stars while the police were right around the corner, i can drive right past them and nothing happens..Like they completely forgot about the guy throwing sticky bombs at them.. Rockstar even said they can change things. It's just how realistic do we want it. I, frankly want it realistic as possible.
colonelfrost8
dont be driving in a diesel or heavy duty truck. ive tried that. its alot more harder to get away. anyways they are supposed to be challenging, not stupid, that was a problem with the earlier gtas. skill is required, just like most games need a challenge. colonelfrost8
another thing you can try is driving in on coming traffic. if you are lucky the cops will run into another car. also try and turn on other roads as much as possible. as soon as you are out of their sight hide in an alley or something. as i said games shouldn't be super easy. if it was too easy people would complain. like people like you for example. Are you definitely putting obstacles between yourself and the chasers? Three stars isn't so hard to get away from providing you don't end up on foot right in front of them. With the choppers do it like real life... get into the city! As soon as you're out of sight, bale and hide. It's impossible to shoot from a vehicle now (for me) with the in-car shooting camera being broken, hopefully this will get patched.

ILOVELOUDPACKS
I think it's strange there are so many differing reports on how everyone's game is working. I was running through Alamo Sea with Trevor and killed two peds on a porch and ran off on foot, never got wanted for it. Later on I ran over to the abandoned motel and beat up some guy there, no wanted level. I did however get a wanted level when I killed a guy in the parking lot of the bar, but there were obviously witnesses around. Also, I was playing as Franklin, walking down the road and some guys talked trash to me. Beat both of them down and walked off, no stars at all. Then I was sitting on a hillside under a tree, used my silenced sniper to pick off a driver coming down a road in the industrial area. I hit him, he was dead instantly, everyone on the sidewalks panicked and ran in all different directions, but I also never got a star there. The only thing I can think of is you guys are missing witnesses that are around. I've had 20+ times I have killed someone and never received a star and was outside of a mission, activity, whatever. As for cops being aggressive in chases and them searching for such long periods, I personally like it. I can see why others don't, but I prefer these cops over IV's cops that basically would never come closer than 10 feet to your car and as long as you drove in a straight line, you were good. I like having to break the line of sight and stay out of it. To each their own on this aspect, however, I do know for a fact killing people does not always grant you a wanted level as I've killed tons of people and never was wanted like stated earlier in this post. Man Either your bullsh*tting or you do infact own a magic copy. Read every thread on this subject (there are loads.... funny huh?) and people share the same problem as me. f*ck knows WHY you would lie to defend a game but f*ck knows people are wierd like that (Not saying your bullsh*tting just that you either are or are EXTREMELY lucky) if your good at the game they won't get you. i just checked my stats on rockstar social club and i haven't been busted once. Man you better shut the f*ck up cuz im fittin to come up over there and smack you son (real talk homie g.... srs). nah really f*ck that BS talk man its nothing to do with skill. Its to do with BS spawns and triggered / scripted AI traits thats f*ck UP the cops AI. Re-read the thread The only thing that is really op in the game is that the police cruisers are impossible (nearly) to juke. I have tried to juke one and I got f*cked hahaha. But in the end I just learned how to juke it. I just break the car and then I reverse. Lol you were one of the guys telling us to 'get better at the game' yet your issue is actually evading the cops. My issue and the majority of everyone elses is with WHY we have to evade the cops and why we didnt get away with silence shooting someone in the middle of nowhere with no witnesses, WHY I cant snipe a cop with a silenced sniper from AFAR and not get 3 f*cking stars. That is the issue maybe you need to get better son. It's like ground hog day when a new GTA comes out. Seriously I've never heard of another game that is so successful but has so many complainers. The cops in V are a huge improvement from IV, don't know how that an be argued. Also, if you find the notion of running/hiding from the cops 'annoying' or 'difficult' maybe GTA isn't the game for you... Because it's so close to being a perfect game. we are just trying to help make it perfect. I understand dude, I'm just saying that every time a GTA drops there's the same complaints. The driving is too hard/easy The cops are too easy/hard to escape I don't like the main character(s) There's nothing to do after the story(lol wut?) This cycle literally happens every GTA. Which is why I'm not sure if we're much help to R* when it comes to making the perfect game we all want. 1. Who complained with previous games that the driving was too hard / main characters etc etc? Wtf does that have to do with BS scripted cop AI rendering silenced weapons and the WHOLE f*ckING STEALTH GAMEPLAY MECHANIC useless outside of missions? you mad nigga? shut the f*ck up. SmoothGetaway
@thebull Uh, people are complaining about the police and driving again...? I'm pretty sure that's what it's got to do with the thread. This GTA launch is no different from any other, there will always be gripes and sh*t. Also, people complained about the driving/characters in SA and IV. A lot actually. Edited September 23, 2013 by SmoothGTA
streetx1xracer
I think it's just right in my opinion. They don't know where you are 24/7 like the other gta's. Plus I like the challenge of having a wanted level. For example you can just lose me by going top speed down a highway, you actually have to hide. I<3GTAV
People just need more skill, I've only died around 2 or 3 times. If you have a lot of stars, just head for the country and get off road, and make sure the cops don't follow you off the road. That way you only need to lose the choppers. Crewnordin
The police is totally not overpowered.. The military base is f*cking overpowered. Stealing the C130 is f*cking impossible. The police is piss easy.. just follow the rail of the trains or use alleys. THE f*ckING MILLITARY IS OVERPOWERED,, they just keep shooting their f*cking rpg just when im about to take off,,

aaronimpact
I thought I was a GTA IV fanboy regarding the realism in that game. But these GTA V fanboys take the cake.
