F*CKING BULLSH*T

dude I made a similar thread like this today and 90% of the people agreed with me (it too went on for 3 odd pages). The police are an utter joke. Not so much when you get wanted but HOW you get wanted. I.e punching someone on mount chilliad boom 1 star. its bs and needs patched ignore the fanboys who put up with Rockstars Bullsh*t.

That only happens if a witness was around and made a call. Likely another hitch hiker you didn't spot.

They are more advanced than they have ever been, and are easy to evade if you use your head.

For example, run in to an alley way where nobody can see you, take a car and make sure all witnesses are dead before they raise the alarm. The arrow goes grey, and as long as they don't see your face too clearly you can drive right past the cops. Being able to use all these techniques and get results is just outright epic.

They can't see through walls anymore too, and you can use this to your advantage.

Rather than blaming the game, improve your gameplay.

It's not a case of "fanboyism", it's a case of people playing the game and seeing / using the enhacements and loving it vs people who cry and go "oh it's too hard". I found the game easy and using your brain to evade the police is just awesome.

1. No witnesses were around. Trust me. Explain the following:

When I evade the cops and the stars start to blink how come when I get out my car to hide the cops come to my exact location and wait around there searching for me despite it being on the other end of town?

How come when I rob a 24/7 EVERY TIME the SECOND i pick up the bag of money I have a 2 star wanted level? (SPOILER ALERT Its scripted)

How come when I sneak kill a cop I get 2 - 3 stars despite no witnesses?

How come I can silence pistol someone in the desert / mount chilliad and get wanted?

How come you allow yourself to accept this BS Al?

2. Lol If I steal a car yes I can drive past them but if I stop they want me. More questions for you.

How if I walk into a group of blacks (If I am franklin) the cops single me out KNOWING its me?

How the f*ck do the cops know EXACTLY what I look like without even seeing me?

Lol at rather blame the game. Dude stfu your blind fanboy go read every thread on this 90% of the people agree there is a problem and the other 10% probably acknowledge the problem but know that secretly whenever a negative opinion against Rockstar arises a kitten is murdered. Wake the f*ck up son.

The cops are a nuisance, they spawn infront of you every f*cking time, you get wanted for ANYTHING, 1 star takes toooo damn long to disappear now (WHEN I AM HIDING) which let me tell you is aggrivating as hell as say I wanna get on with a mission (or I am on one) and hit an civilian by accident, yea it was my fault so I deal with it and duck in an alley way. What happens? The cops automatically (due to their programming / AI) know that I am in that area (not due to their smart AI but flawed / basic programming) and because it takes like 1 f*cking minute for that blinking one star to disappear the cops usually automatically stumble upon me and are like "HEy there he is" and boom two stars, they start popping shots off etc and sh*t escalates from there usually resulting in me loading / allowing myself to die because I cannot be f*cked with trying to escape the flawed annoying cops anymore.

It was a problem in GTA IV and tbh it feels worse with this one.

IV: "too easy"

V: "too hard"

seriously people, f*ck off. Cops is very good this time, one negative is that the silencers doesn't work.

Who the f*ck said IV was too easy? Go try and rampage cops in San Andreas and then try in IV I can assure you, you will not succeed in the latter. Seriously hate f*cking idiots who pull these 'factual' statements out their ass.

I'm really hoping R* will at least do something.

Seriously though, I'll do a crime and get a star, but completely leave the area and they know EXACTLY where to look.

How are people so crap at this game? The cops are annoying, but its pretty easy to get away from them! I've managed to get away from 4 stars with a pick up truck! Dont just stick to roads, go off road, anywhere, once you're outta sight, make sure you stay outta sight, if you see a cop coming, then move!

Its really not that difficult..

Its not about that you bumbling fool. Of course you CAN get away from the cops. Good for you nobody gives a sh*t. I can get away from the cops every single time but thats not the point. The question is why the cops are so unrealistic. Even if you go out of sight they still come to your general area. Also cops are alerted even if you kill a single person with no witnesses and a silencer.

It's like ground hog day when a new GTA comes out. Seriously I've never heard of another game that is so successful but has so many complainers. The cops in V are a huge improvement from IV, don't know how that an be argued.

Also, if you find the notion of running/hiding from the cops 'annoying' or 'difficult' maybe GTA isn't the game for you...

The new police system is great. You need to come up with good tactics to get away like going off road, switching vehicles, hiding in alleyways. I'll agree that the police cars are a tad over powered but at least that makes the chases more exciting rather than out running them with ease.

Good tactics? Dude the game turns into an online match of cod were you try to predict were the enemy will f*cking spawn. Thats EXACTLY how the cops work in GTA V.

"Are the cops gonna spawn infront of me if I turn lef..... yea they spawned infront of me what if I go righ...... f*ck this load save"

I agree. I was on top of Mt. Chiliad (Or whatever it's called) and I punched - and shot - a few climbers, than in less then 10 seconds there were 2 cop cars on the top of the Mountain. How in the hell did a cop car get up there so fast? It's as if they just spawned up there. R* over did the cops just a bit.

The driving is too hard/easy

The cops are too easy/hard to escape

I don't like the main character(s)

There's nothing to do after the story(lol wut?)

This cycle literally happens every GTA. Which is why I'm not sure if we're much help to R* when it comes to making the perfect game we all want.

The only thing that is really op in the game is that the police cruisers are impossible (nearly) to juke. I have tried to juke one and I got f*cked hahaha. But in the end I just learned how to juke it. I just break the car and then I reverse.

LOL the game is nowhere near close to perfect, thats a joke. Im not a GTA basher and a big rockstar fan but thats just a dumb statement. No game is close to perfect, and this game is definitely no exception.

I think it's strange there are so many differing reports on how everyone's game is working. I was running through Alamo Sea with Trevor and killed two peds on a porch and ran off on foot, never got wanted for it. Later on I ran over to the abandoned motel and beat up some guy there, no wanted level. I did however get a wanted level when I killed a guy in the parking lot of the bar, but there were obviously witnesses around.

Also, I was playing as Franklin, walking down the road and some guys talked trash to me. Beat both of them down and walked off, no stars at all. Then I was sitting on a hillside under a tree, used my silenced sniper to pick off a driver coming down a road in the industrial area. I hit him, he was dead instantly, everyone on the sidewalks panicked and ran in all different directions, but I also never got a star there.

The only thing I can think of is you guys are missing witnesses that are around. I've had 20+ times I have killed someone and never received a star and was outside of a mission, activity, whatever.

As for cops being aggressive in chases and them searching for such long periods, I personally like it. I can see why others don't, but I prefer these cops over IV's cops that basically would never come closer than 10 feet to your car and as long as you drove in a straight line, you were good. I like having to break the line of sight and stay out of it. To each their own on this aspect, however, I do know for a fact killing people does not always grant you a wanted level as I've killed tons of people and never was wanted like stated earlier in this post.

Nope. I killed 2 hikers on TOP of mount chiliad with no witnesses and instant wanted level. Just seems inconsistent in general

Man Either your bullsh*tting or you do infact own a magic copy. Read every thread on this subject (there are loads.... funny huh?) and people share the same problem as me. f*ck knows WHY you would lie to defend a game but f*ck knows people are wierd like that (Not saying your bullsh*tting just that you either are or are EXTREMELY lucky)

if your good at the game they won't get you. i just checked my stats on rockstar social club and i haven't been busted once.

Man you better shut the f*ck up cuz im fittin to come up over there and smack you son (real talk homie g.... srs). nah really f*ck that BS talk man its nothing to do with skill. Its to do with BS spawns and triggered / scripted AI traits thats f*ck UP the cops AI. Re-read the thread

The only thing that is really op in the game is that the police cruisers are impossible (nearly) to juke. I have tried to juke one and I got f*cked hahaha. But in the end I just learned how to juke it. I just break the car and then I reverse.

Lol you were one of the guys telling us to 'get better at the game' yet your issue is actually evading the cops. My issue and the majority of everyone elses is with WHY we have to evade the cops and why we didnt get away with silence shooting someone in the middle of nowhere with no witnesses, WHY I cant snipe a cop with a silenced sniper from AFAR and not get 3 f*cking stars. That is the issue maybe you need to get better son.

1. Who complained with previous games that the driving was too hard / main characters etc etc? Wtf does that have to do with BS scripted cop AI rendering silenced weapons and the WHOLE f*ckING STEALTH GAMEPLAY MECHANIC useless outside of missions?

Thbull94 I completely agree. You kill a cop and instantly are wanted.... Doesn't someone have to call it in first? Even if there is a witness there should be at least 30 seconds leeway. Its damn stupid and beyond me how a team of top developers with $260mil+ didnt get this right.

It's difficult, and that's it. The only complaints I have are stealth and silencers not working. Police still come even if you silently kill someone in the middle of nowhere.

I can't believe you guys are complaining because they're tougher to fight and escape. Yeah, it's harder than the previous games. Get over it. Christ.

Yea it baffles me too but hey I suppose just cuz the game was 200+ million to develop doesnt mean they woulda got the best of the bunch. Like ive said multiple times (not directing this at you btw just people in general) Rockstar are a business they seek a profit. If that means cutting a bunch of sh*t for DLC and saving money on hiring cheaper programmers etc they will do it just like any other company would. Hence the cluster f*ck of bugs and..... No switch shoulder aim ability (lolwut?)

Jeez do you lack comprehension skills or are you a troll?

The main issue (IMO) is with cops being alerted instantly for little stuff. Killing someone with no witnesses in the mountains. Even punching someone out sometimes cops are alerted instantly, not realistic or fun IMO. Also gangsters shoot at you and no cops are alerted. Lastly the cops seem to know where you are. This is another big issue IMO.

The difficulty in getting away from them is very subjective. You gotta be creative. For example, you can't just keep driving in a straight line.

for those having trouble getting away from the cops, you're probably doing it wrong.like said above you got to be creative/strategic.ive had shootouts at the grove cul de sac and after that id flee on foot hoppin fences through backyards and alley ways and still managed to lose them.ill have to say gettin away from the ghettobird is tricky, but possible.

i have a feeling the ones that are having trouble getting away are the ones that think they can by ^"driving in a straight line".this aint IV no more and it wont be that easy.the argument on silencers and stealth killing hikers on MT.Chilliad is one i can agree on though.

I have honestly never had an issue like this. I have shot a sniper rifle from the side of the road full of traffic and never got a star. I lit a car and patio on fire, no cops. Punched a guy in the face on the street for talking sh*t and no cops. Stolen many cars and haven't had stars. I highly doubt that me killing someone in the mountains with a silenced pistol will trigger a star

I'm gonna have to call bullsh*t on your post man. The cops are perfectly fine in this game. If you are having a hard time with the police it's because when you DO try and get away, you stay on the main roads.. and the police patrol the main roads, the objective is to ditch them, and or hide, not outrun them on the main roads.. as long as you are on ANY main road.. (just like in real life) they keep tabs on you and you won't go away.

Sometimes its best to ditch your car and hide, but most of the time, all you have to do is go off the beaten path and use common sense as to where they would either A) Have a hard time following you, and B) where they wouldn't show up in the first place.

As for shooting your weapon in the middle of no where, you are totally off (at least, from what I've seen).

I've stood in the middle of Grove Street and shot my pistol, (it's totally random), but a lot of the times if no one gets hurt, no police are called (It depends, sometimes they are called). Plenty of times out in the desert I've shot my weapon, no police are called.

If you shoot someone and they are by themselves and nobody else witnessed it.. no police are called.

All of you guys that are complaining about the police in this game, you want it watered down and 80% of us don't want that because.. yeah.. in real life, it ain't easy dodging the cops.. learn the new system, and learn that cops aren't as stupid as they were in IV.

The game has become a lot more challeneging, from vehicle handling, gunplay, and police (IT REQUIRES PRACTICE TO BECOME AN EPIC CRIMINAL) and now that all you folks can't handle it, you want all the watered down EASY kindergarten play from IV back.. ugh, it annoys me. You all just need to practice, because with practice, you can do it all.. yes... even flying helicopters like a pro.. (HINT: Don't fly in 3rd person, fly in 1st person view)

(Maybe it's because a lot of you have HACKED versions of the game is why it doesn't play correct for you i.e. when you shoot a gun in the middle of no where, the cops come, but.. with my legit copy of the game... I've shot my gun dozens of times and killed people out in the wilderness and just as long as no one else is there to report it, nothing happens).

Is it perfect? no, but its sure as hell 10 times better then the police in any other gta game to date.

being able to escape 3-5 stars on foot is awesome.

I've never personally had problems with cops detecting me in the middle of no-where, then again I actually use the stealth feature while shooting.

That's funnny, got to contact Gamestop tomorrow and tell them they sold me a hacked version of the game. Because I can replicate that video I posted few posts up anywhere on the map with same results. Shooting civilians with no witnesses give you a wanted star. Killing an civilian with a melee does not give you a star BUT if you start beating up the body, a star is activated. I can do this in Mt. Chiliad and on Downtown LS with same results. Why don't you post your own video to prove your point of everyone complaining about the police being noobs/hackers.

Yeah... In real life it takes time to call 911, explain your emergency and location AND to dispatch the police officers to the scene. Seriously, watch that video. Instant wanted star on the exact moment the second hiker dies, on both times. I can do a god damn 10 hour montage of this AI behaviour, but I don't think it matters for people like you.

WHile i think the new light of sight based system is a great improvement over IV it still needs ALOT of tweeking. The problem now to me is the cops frustrating uncanny sixth sense. Just yesterday i had a 2 star wanted level and no choppers so i jumped up onto a roof before the patrol cars arrived in my area. They circled for a while then one just walks straight up the ladder to the roof where i am. How the f*ck could they know im there? I was out of sight and climbed up before they had even arrived...VERY annoying as i was enjoying the tension of them wandering around nearby then that sh*t happens..

THis also renders silenced weapons useless as even though i shoot a NPC out in the sticks AND with a silenced pistol the 50 still turn up. Great system that needs more work.
