ryuclan
A lot of you are missing the point. They need tweaked. What the f*ck fun is it to kill hikers in the middle of nowhere, especially with a silenced weapon and have 50 cops show up on a mountain? Or having the stars take a trillion years to disappear. I mean, I can't even beat a guy up somewhere without then having to immediately hide for 2 hours. It's not a problem with escaping, it's a problem with mechanics. I have honestly never had an issue like this. I have shot a sniper rifle from the side of the road full of traffic and never got a star. I lit a car and patio on fire, no cops. Punched a guy in the face on the street for talking sh*t and no cops. Stolen many cars and haven't had stars. I highly doubt that me killing someone in the mountains with a silenced pistol will trigger a star

KennethMBB
I was one of those saying cops are better this time around and easy if you have skill. Well I just spent 40 f*cking minutes running from the cops with 4 stars in the desert and anywhere I went they appeared. So I agree to an extent cops are overpowered, but it has a lot to do with the spawn ratio R* set them at. I was in the middle of a f*cking desert, why the hell is there 3 helicopters and 20 police cars? Don't take the train track either, they will still get you on that f*cker. assmillk
the people who complain about police in this game are just bad at the game. All you have to do is go a short distance from them until your radar isn't blue/red, then hide behind a building for 10 seconds.

Rafkin
I don't see the problem as they are easy to lose even for a gimp driver like myself. I like to spray them with the water hose on a fire truck. If they're walking you can knock them off their feet.
DwnShft2Xcelr8
They are irritating, that's not a lie. If you ever get 3 star wanted level, you can kiss your chances of escaping goodbye once the choppers come out. I do like that the cars actually have tactics to try and take you out, like boxing you in, or ramming you, but that's only cool after the first time. It's annoying otherwise. Not necessarily true. I get away from 3 stars all the time. The police system in this game isn't flawless. I have a number of complaints about it. The things that annoy me about the police system are... ... they last too long. Even at 1 star, the search for you lasts longer than it really has to. ... the cops blame you for their own mistakes. I had a cop bump into me while he was chasing a criminal on foot and suddenly I got a 1 star wanted level, which obviously went to 2 stars once I started running away. ... the cops seemingly know exactly where to search for you once you're out of their sight. You can hide behind a building and suddenly cops know to search around that building, even if they didn't see you go there. ... you can't get away with any crimes without drawing police attention. I've killed people with silencers in the middle of the desert, and guess what? Even with NOBODY around, I've still gotten wanted levels.
Mcquiz
I wouldn't have a problem if those cop cars that ram you from behind weren't a lot faster than a Comet and if you could escape the cops without waiting a bloody year in hiding. During that year their magic search units know where you are, even though you are hidden. Also just today I got a wanted level for looking at my stocks near a car repair shop. Jameson312
I think as long as you are in "stealth mode" you are straight, if you use a silencer in the mountains and whatnot. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. But other than that I hide from the cops all the time. You've gotta use the alleys and back roads. na89340qv0n34b09q340
There's a cute little circular tunnel by the LS River in East LS that the cable car travels through. Usually if you duck in there the police won't follow you and you can escape without problems in there with as high as three stars (four if you're lucky.) The runoff ditches in the mountains also work well if you're in Blaine County. What you really need is a fast car (I've escaped every time by getting them to ram into oncoming traffic, they're fast too - accept that) and a knowledge of good hiding places all over the city. Practice more and you'll get better at escaping them.
Der Süden
I do escape in about 75% of cases at 1-3 stars (had 4 stars just a few times and 5 stars once), but I hate the cops in V too. I hate them more than civilians calling the cops for no reason, I hate them more than cougars in the wilderness and I hate them more than the fact that I can't survive a shark meeting in the water without a sub (or can I?). Gruggles
I managed escape from 3 stars (with helicopter on my ass) in a van with 3 blown tyres. Those saying they're over powered should probably try something other than driving in a straight line.
stee_vo
Use your wits, I escaped a 3-star wanted level in a pickup once, i think. If you're in a truck, detach the trailer in a tunnel or something.
Jameson312
You people must have broken thumbs, it's easy as sh*t. Turn of your lights as well. For sure. You gotta duck into an alley and turn off the lights. You've gotta turn the corner and switch cars when you're out of sight. The cops are more realistic then they've ever been imo. It's not like the LAPD is a cake walk in real life.

If someone has outrun the police the first thing they will do would be to look at nearby hotspots such as alleys and houses.
Cinoy
The police in GTA V are so f*cking overpowered, their cars go like a million f*cking mph and they just dont f*cking go away. It takes the fun out of the game. Even if you dont have the cops after you, if they crash into you, they blame it on you and try to kill you, even though its their fault. GTA V is good and all but the police scheme in GTA IV was way better than it is now, like seriously. Even if you're in the middle of the f*cking desert and you shoot a silenced weapon they're after you, like how the f*ck would they know? I call bullsh*t. GTA, sort out your f*cking game. joined 8 hours ago, what a troll. The cops in GTA V are wayyyy better. You just dont have a brain and dont know how to follow the instructions. The point is to get out of the cops "field of view", like hide in the bushes or in a house, then just wait and try to avoid getting in their line of sight while they search the area. /thread... You shouldnt have the problem of cops ramming you if you know how to f*cking drive. Use your wits, I escaped a 3-star wanted level in a pickup once, i think. If you're in a truck, detach the trailer in a tunnel or something. I escaped 3 star wanted levels on foot. People just dont know how the game works. If you are out of the flashing area all you have to do is hide and make sure they dont come near your hiding spot. Alex Magana
GTA V Police is better than GTA IV & GTA SA & GTA VC & GTA 3 Police! As i know R* Games made GTA V Police like (in realife police) in Los Angeles.Their police cars in LA are so heavy and they are driving fast than a normal car.!!That's why R* made GTA V Police same as LA Police Cars! That's clearly that GTA V is so cool game & R* did great job! Don't get mad cuz GTA V Police is so hard to escape from them!! Game is cool, you just need to get inside the role of GTA V then you will realize the gameplay! Edited September 22, 2013 by Blue Ray Team
Puffmanny
Yea you just suck, I love this police system, first of all if you look at the percentages criminals get away from crimes during a high speed chase it's almost never then add helicopters litreally like never, if FBI or swat or army are involved you will DIE, but 2-3 stars are easy to get away from, maybe not dead center of the city with 3 stars but most part still easy. EzOne4Me
Manage to evade the cops in a garbage truck with 3 stars in just less than a minute. Admit it you just sucks. Lol. Louismkd
How are people so crap at this game? The cops are annoying, but its pretty easy to get away from them! I've managed to get away from 4 stars with a pick up truck! Dont just stick to roads, go off road, anywhere, once you're outta sight, make sure you stay outta sight, if you see a cop coming, then move! Its really not that difficult.. Taz_78
Also, DO NOT DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE.... Seriously, swerve through traffic, and crazy Ivan, so they can't ram you. I always go into oncoming traffic to shake a close tail. When in Blaine County get off the road. Train tracks are always good escape routes, just keep watching for the train, oncoming or from behind. MrAssClap
I think the thing that really bothers me is how good they are with guns this time around. I know they're suppose to be trained officers and whatnot but the other day I was flying a plane over a bridge where cops had set up roadblocks. I flew over it not even that low and a cop on the ground (with a pistol I might add) actually shot a few into me taking a chunk of health. That was just a little ridiculous imo. SpidersWeb
I dunno, if someone shot me in the face I'd probably lose a lot of health too. It's just odd that people complain about it. I have it happen and I don't blame the game, I just realise I put myself in a bad situation and failed to pull it off.
Lisha
I like the fact that we need to hide to avoid them, adds tension and makes the game more fun. However, psychic police is still an issue. If I silently snipe someone who is all alone, the cops shouldn't instantly know that I've just committed a crime. Yeah, maybe if I lingered and the body was discovered by a patrol, then it'd be cool - but not just insta-star because I wanted to kill someone. I haven't been busted once and I've completed the story, I've also barely killed anyone that isn't part of a mission because sometimes I cba to evade the cops. It's partly why I quicksave often before I do stuff that could get me wanted.
Edward-Is-A-Flunky45
Want a solution ? Learn how to play against it. Was very annoying to me ass well but I learned how to outplay the police with a car, or even on foot. Just a matter of time. You'll need to learn that for GTAO though, if you don't master the game's mechanics, you'll suck online.
