One thing that's also cool is jumping on a train. Earlier today I had a wanted level so just ran on the tracks till I saw a train, jumped on, hid in one of the wagons, cops will never know what happened.

I actually like the cops MORE this game. Yes they are ridiculously fast sometimes but It honestly isn't that hard to evade them once you know what to do. When I do it I gun it and try to get as some space between me and the nearest cop. Get out of their line of sight and avoid oncoming cops. When you're out then just hide in an alley with the lights off. Helicopters aren't that hard either if you move fast enough. If you want to beat someone up without cops showing up then just kick their ass and flee the scene.

Oh and if you are trying to evade cops on the highway....you're gonna have a bad time.

Some people complaining probably haven't played GTA San Andreas or Vice City or III. The cops also "appeared from nowhere", blamed a crash on you if they crashed, and went at "a million miles per hour" when they could. Especially in VC. This is not a real life simulator, they wanted to probably bring the funnier police back. GTA SA had most of the things you call "ridiculous and bullsh*t" in V, and I consider V to be a spiritual successor to GTA SA so I think it's about right with the fun/story ratio, given the current gen limitations.

I dont want to sound like a dick, but the one time I had some issues with the police was at 5-Star levels, only because they're everywhere. But I find the system quite good, tbh, maybe you just suck lol

I think the police system is near perfect. Breaking the line of sight and hiding in an alley or under a bridge is way more realistic than GTA IV. I really can't see what people are bitchin' about.

The fact that if you shoot someone at the top of Mt. Chiliad in the middle of the night when nobody is around with a silenced gun, you get a wanted level. How is that realistic? Nobody could have possibly seen or heard it.

It's difficult to get away from police - people complain, if it's too easy to get away from police - people complain.

Rockstar cannot win either way with you lot

I do like the police in this game, however they do seem to have that rubber band effect where you cant outrun them which sucks.

Also they should have had them patrolling a little more often.

I like the cops.

I HATE the stupid "good citizens" who call the cops when I start a harmless fist fight

I agree with you within a slight degree. I wouldn't say it is all terrible but I hate how the police cars are just faster than any car that the player drives and then rams into the back. But, it's cool how they search a specific area.

I don't mind the cops except how these small little pieces of sh*t cars can ram a motherf*cking Dumper off the road.

It's all about tactics, and it's much more fun now than the circle thing from GTA IV. Here you actually have to drive and keep out of sight, you can't just speed away in one direction as they'll call that and get back up there, so you have to avoid any police on the radar, always turn away from them, take back alleys, tunnels, etc, it's really fun, though i will admit there have been moments where a single cop just walking down the street has ruined a near perfect escape an re-alerts everyone again.

:^::^::^:

It's better this time around. I like stopping out of sight and watching the radar to see if they're coming down the alley I'm hiding in.

Even if you're in the middle of the f*cking desert and you shoot a silenced weapon they're after you, like how the f*ck would they know? I call bullsh*t.

haha that's completely false. I shot a silenced pistol in the middle of f*cking los santos and the cops didn't do anything.

I HATE the cops in gta V. Soo annoying I was doing that jewelry heist a couple of days ago and I bumped into a cop car by accident and it took me atleast 10 minutes to finally evade the f*ckers

I don't have issues getting away from 3 or 4 star, not had 5 yet. It's very easy to do. You simply get out of the police cone of vision, keep driving and look out for the other police car usually coming your way and just turn off then steal a different car and keep driving.

Tip: Stealing a different car makes it harder for the police to find you as they not looking for the new car you just stole but the other one they were chasing before.

I usually lob a sticky bomb out the window or on a vehicle I'm getting ready to pass, switch to the rear view cam, and wait for the perfect time. This alone is why I'm having a blast in GTAV, and also why I never get anything done.

It's not a solution, though. It only buys you a little window of time to change your course or go into hiding.

The police in GTA V are so f*cking overpowered, their cars go like a million f*cking mph and they just dont f*cking go away. It takes the fun out of the game.

Even if you dont have the cops after you, if they crash into you, they blame it on you and try to kill you, even though its their fault.

GTA V is good and all but the police scheme in GTA IV was way better than it is now, like seriously.

Even if you're in the middle of the f*cking desert and you shoot a silenced weapon they're after you, like how the f*ck would they know? I call bullsh*t.

GTA, sort out your f*cking game.

i haven't had this happen, even though at two stars the cops go psycho and try to ram me off the road!!

He's saying that it is irritating that the cops notices a slinced pistol kill in the middle of the dessert with none around for instance. Not the difficulty.

it's weird that everyone has a problem with the police. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. I've ditched them in an alleyway or in a little scout tower in the middle of the dessert and the behave exactly how they should. They look around my last location and then give up. They are really aggressive when chasing you. Always catching up and ramming you from behind. But other than that, I haven't had any problems. Maybe I just haven't messed around enough.

They are irritating, that's not a lie.

If you ever get 3 star wanted level, you can kiss your chances of escaping goodbye once the choppers come out.

I do like that the cars actually have tactics to try and take you out, like boxing you in, or ramming you, but that's only cool after the first time. It's annoying otherwise.

Multi-storey garages, subway lines and tunnels are your friends.

plus off road mountainous areas in the wilderness and alongside freeways. You could hide in a bush on a mountain side, be inside the cops blue search cone and be 100% undetectable if your cursor is greyed out.

I do however, agree 100% with this, especially with no peds around.

And yes it's practically impossible to hide in those open desert areas

I hate how you rob a store and they automatically are outside waiting on you. Also I dont want to have to get out my car and jump a few fences because of the whole saving cars bug. One time I got out my car, ran in an alley, and killed the cops. Ran back to my car and my car was gone. Ran down the street and my car came rushing towards me and a f*cking cop hopped out!!!! Lmao

Pro-tip: get the hell out of LS and go off-road. This may not be working as intended but for some reason police cruisers often don't go complete off-road. This doesn't get rid of the choppers though. But seriously, escaping the cops outside the city is way easier. No traffic to worry about either.

I believe a valid reason behind the "cops ramming into you at high speed" issue is because Rockstar wanted the police to be a tougher escape in vehicle. I mean, would it be fun if the police cars could only drive half the speed of your top tuned vehicle? Wouldn't that be too easy, and VERY boring? I mean, no epic cop chases or anything.

I agree that it is unrealistic, but I actually find it quite funny sometimes, having 3-4 police cars right behind me, trying to take me down.

A lot of you are missing the point. They need tweaked. What the f*ck fun is it to kill hikers in the middle of nowhere, especially with a silenced weapon and have 50 cops show up on a mountain? Or having the stars take a trillion years to disappear. I mean, I can't even beat a guy up somewhere without then having to immediately hide for 2 hours. It's not a problem with escaping, it's a problem with mechanics.
