100% Agree. I love driving down an alley, ditching the car and escaping on foot by jumping fences etc. Hiding from helicopters under bridges etc.

That's the whole point of the cops. They are supposed to show up and arrest you, or kill you if you provoke them. That's what makes the game realistic in some ways. It would be NO fun if you just got to kill everything you saw without consequence.

Nah you just suck. The cops are smarter, a bit more realistic, and I love the system. If they walk by you and you're behind a structure they won't know unless someone called from behind that area. So damn cool this game continues to surprise me.

Thank you. It is my gripe and my OPINION from a game I paid for. Why do people actually get upset when I have an issue. I don't want the game to hold my hand, I want to explore the map completely unrestricted is that too much to ask?

cops are good but too sensitive. I ditched a jet from max altitude and parachuted down. Cops were on me. How the hell would they know I ditched that jet that Landed way off in the hills. Another time I stuck a sticky bomb to a car at a red light. I let it drive off a ways. I wanted to blow it up and watch the chaos that follows but the second I remotely detonate the bomb the cops are there so I cant stay and enjoy the scene. That was annoying. I thought by doing it with a sticky vs rocket launcher I'd stay anonymous. I like doing chaos more than running from police. Cops need to be less aggressive in some aspects. The game encourages me to obey the law bc the second I do wrong the pigs are everywhere.

Yeah, TOTALLY more realistic. Like how if you kill someone on the top of a mountain or in the middle of the desert or the woods, the cops immediately know and swarm. Totally like real life. I would like there to be SOME areas where there is a reprieve from the law. Where you don't do the slightest thing wrong and get swarmed by the most accurate cops in the world. That's another thing, apparently, in this world everyone is a marksman, even low level gang members.

They are definitely more aggressive, which makes it more fun sometimes, but I agree with you. I was so hoping we would see a no cops cheat, but it doesn't seem likely. I would like to go crazy and shoot people like I did in San Andreas without having to worry about them shooting at me. Oh well.

 

One thing that pisses me off is how they know where you are all the time. It's like all the cops are snipers, watching your every move, or maybe they are part of a big surveillance thing. Before I got the game, I seen a livestream where a guy killed a hiker on the top of Mount Chiliad and got 2 stars, and all of the sudden cop cars appeared out of nowhere and drove up to where he was at. What's realistic about that?

Dude learn to play seriously, I've just had 3 stars on me from robbing a 24/7 shop as Franklin in the desert and there was literally about 7 cars on me or more and a Helicopter, I eventually evaded their line of sight with my motorbike through the woods and I thought ok I better hide now, So I ducked into these bushes as I parked my bike next to this massive rock and my character arrow on the mini-map greyed out, then about 5seconds later the helicopter hovers over me while I'm hiding as in puts the spotlight right over my location literally and was night time but didn't see me stealthed in the bushes and 10seconds later I lost the 3 star wanted level just like that. I've lost them plenty of times trust me I've even robbed an armored van and I got chased on foot and I went into this motel and It was a dead end so I tried hiding in there anyway and they came in and found me so I busted my way out of there like a true bank robber wearing my balaclava and jumped in the near vehicle and managed to get a 4 star wanted level off my ass, don't tell me the cops are ruining the game, THE COPS ARE GREAT AND THE STEALTH MECHANICS ARE AWESOME.

I'll tell you again, the police system in this game sucks and ruins the fun of the game for me and many others. I can't tell you how disappointing it is that they managed to make a GTA game where you CAN'T rampage for more than 2 seconds before being swarmed and killed. They changed a mechanic of the game that has been the main reason I played the game. I'm not interested in playing "seriously". That sounds incredibly boring and goes against the point. If I play a game seriously, I finish the game and then return it to gamestop. The last GTA was able to last me 4 years before it even STARTED to get old. I'm not even through the storyline and it's getting boring. That is unforgivable for a game like this.

 

And I will add, I like the whole Line-of-sight mechanic. That was a pretty cool idea. It's just pretty much everything else about the cops sucks.

I'll have to agree. They need to ease off the cops response time just a little. I like how the cops are more realistic and seem way smarter than previous GTA titles, but it does get little frustrating not being able to go on a small rampage without the cops being behind you at every corner.

I suppose if Trevor is the way Rockstar envisions how GTA Players would want to be, then the LSPD is how they envision the cops would want to be.

You get the cops on you way to easy. I shud try to bmx cycyling in a skate ramp, I crash ofc problem was i hit a pedestrian, and imetdtly i had 1 star wanted level. had to leave the cyckylng to outrun them. I also Think the body armor is way to low. I want to hold my ground against the cops just alittle longer than possible. Just for fun!!! not realism, wich the game dosent have any anyway.

Few problems with cops I wish they would fix (I think it's not possible sadly though):

 

1. Like few people said already, if I am in middle of nowhere and I kill someone silently somehow cops know where I am. Also why have silencers if all they do is reduce range and damage?

 

2. I like how there's no magical circles where you can't hide at all and polices have vision cones BUT still one of the most annoying thing I hate in games is that they know where you are! Do they have some crazy ass X-ray goggles? One time I killed two people in their backyard (again, I killed 'em with melee so why the hell I got cops after me?!) and I went inside my house and as far as I could and behind wall. After like 40 seconds the cops are outside and one dude runs STRAIGHT at the place I am! And he was even LOOKING AT ME even though there was NO WAY he could of known I am behind that wall!

 

 

I hope GTA Online has free mode where you can toggle these superhumans off, just like in GTA IV multiplayer!

For me there are a lot of pros and there are a lot of cons. I love the realistic feel of the cops. I've had some epic police chases. From jumping over fences and run through the "hood" to escape, to 4 wheelers over the desert being followed by a police chopper. Then there have been moments where I've said WTF leave me alone! I do feel overall they need to be tuned down a bit. But I like the direction they went with the new system.

 

EDIT: I do really love the cone vision they have. I had one situation where I was hiding behind something. (forget what it was) but a cop was heading right towards me. He kind of ran past me, which allowed me to slide around the other side and take off the running the other direction.

all i'm hearing is: "how dare rockstar provide a challenge! don't they know that games should be made based off of my standards. i don't want to have to get used to a new way of playing, for that would require more time and effort, dammit!"

you're basically just bitching at a wall, since this whole thing is subjective.

 

my advice: buy some armour before rampaging. it should make it a little easier.

You are an absolute clown for this opinion, here is how the cop AI works: You commit a crime it may get reported by the NPCs(I've stolen some cars and seen the NPCs pull out there phones either to call the cops or to take a photo), the cops are not all knowing. The cops are alerted to a crime they don't just show up out of thin air. And there is plenty of time to outrun them before they even show up, get out of their vision cones. You just don't know how to play.

The cops are the best yet, rob a store or kill someone the police are not on the scene straight away which gives you a chance to flee the area and hide down some back alley
