When is this going to be fixed?

 

I'm very thankful for the opportunity to take pictures of stuff in-game and share it with other people around the world also playing the game. But, seriously, what's the point in having this feature if 90% of the time i get an error message telling me it can't connect to Social Club? I wouldn't mind so much if it actually SAVED your picture anyway, allowing you to go back to it later when the Social Club is working (although that's a rare occurrence), but no, you lose it completely. And have to hope that a few days later the same situation occurs and you can share it with everybody.

That is what I really hate about this rubbish cloud/online trend in the game/mobile/entertainment industry. Sharing and all is great, but why don't implement a offline/fallback solution? We have so great characters, outfits, situations... sure we want to make pictures of it! Even if Rockstars servers would always work - maybe my internet connection will not.. or I don't want to have a Xbox LIve Gold Membership...

There definitely should have been some kind of offline storage capability. Ah well, maybe next time.

Not quite sure why you think anyone on the forum will be able to answer this, or why yet another thread on this issue was needed.

 

Bottom line is, until Rockstar say something, we just have to wait. My ability to use the Social Club has improved over the past couple of days, but it's still not 100%.

I was venting, get over it.

 

There is a Gallery tab on the pause menu, why is that not filled with our personal photos? And then we choose which ones we want people to see, instead of the game assuming every shot we take should be uploaded for everybody to see. Just like Forza. It's clearly not hard, you just separate the two, instead of assuming everybody that plays GTA V is also signed up to Social Club... And assuming that all the work you've put in over the past few years has actually worked.

 

Edit: Ah, you know what.. I've just been trying to use my Snapmatic to take a picture with the constant message. As soon as i signed in to Social Club on here, it worked right away. Maybe that's it, maybe you just have to be signed in to Social Club for it to be able to link up. I guess with your account logged out it sees it as offline so can't link up. Sounds like it's easily mendable.

Don't get me wrong - I completely agree with you.

 

It would make much more sense that all photos are saved locally, and you can choose which ones to upload, sort of like the movie recorder in IV on PC.

 

But again, if you feel that strongly about it, and need to vent, you'd be much better served to email Rockstar, as at least then you'll have a chance that somebody who can do something about it could read it.
