Can I treat GTAO as a single player experience?

Hey guys. It's doubtful but I'm just wondering if anyone knows the deets on whether or not I have to be always online once I get gtao. also ifi can do all the missions solo or Au least attempt them. I really hope I'm not locked out of a lot of it just because I'm the only player in the server.

 

Also, can I make my own server? thus having 0 lag when alone?

As for privately owned servers, I have no idea. They might do what EA did and sell them, but I have no idea...

I do not want to go far fetched with this idea, but I believe the connection may be a mix of peer to peer and servers. Based on your settings, you may always be put in a game with other people. It will match you with other people near your level, but also optimize for friends and crew members. So it is seamless when you switch to your online character.

 

All the match making will be done as you play and if anyone leaves your game, it will be replaced with another person.

 

That is how I kind of see it working, especially with the idea of the apartments. You have your own interiors, you probably will be in an instance with 16 players total, with an option to invite to your instance as well.

 

This works so there is never any full games and you always have people to play with. it fits into what MMO games do as well.

 

Just think of how Dark Souls multiplayer works.

They said for the missions where you'd need more people that if you don't have enough people, they will replace them with AI's. Though if I'm going to be doing missions at all, I'd prefer my mates...

This will be what determines if I keep or sell this game. Have playing most of the single player, I am disappointed with the lack of heist, not being able to buy houses etc. I'm not a fan of online gaming. I prefer playing in rooms with friends only, or by myself. I really hope we have that option.

Yea, but what systems are we all on? I'm on the Xbox 360.
