DBZMUSICBOY01
I mean GTA 4 came out in 2008 And well the graphics look kinda bad in ways but the game felt more realistic for some reason. Like when hitting people they don't die right away with just one punch and the way the motorcycles were much better too. With 5 years rockstar hasn't really added anything new They promised more interiors BUT there's less than gta 4 I have still to see a random apartment building or random place to go inside and stuff. Even the hospitals were accessible inside too just confused because rockstar did promise that the game will be their biggest in everything
stevean2
When did "Realism" equal "better" ? Stop f*ckin' complaining. You telling me doing EVERYTHING you can do in real life alongside ALL it's limitations, including disease, faitque, extreme pain etc. Would be fun for you? Dude shut up. The Sullinator
I agree I am a little disappointed with the amount of interiors in the game. Rockstar said there was going to be a ton of enterable buildings, in fact I read in an interview that most of the buildings would be not only enterable but also unique. And now it turns out hardly any of them are enterable at all. What gives with that? Pretty much one of the only disappointments I've had with the game. IDredMan
Yeah, we're about 4 posts away from a realism VS fun argument. Anyway, about the interiors. There are actually 64 interiors marked on the map, it's just that those include clothe stores, gas stations which you can rob, tattoo parlors, barber shops and many others, so that leaves only a couple of interesting interiors that serve no actual purpose other than adding more to the immersion. I was actually surprised they could have that many interiors with the specs of the current consoles that wouldn't even be able to run GTA 4's PC port (I agree that was a sh*tty unoptimized port, but still). Yes, based on the size of the world, there should be more interiors. If you thought most buildings would be enterable & also unique, then you were setting yourself up for major disappointment. I don't believe R* ever said anything like that. There are quite a few locked (only viewable), darkened, low res but 3D store fronts. Unlike Sleeping Dogs, which had the same, but 2D (pseudo 3D). This is fine, as long as you don't stand & stare at it. I don't care what anyone says, IV is still technically impressive to this day. Magic_Al
Looking back at lists of interiors from GTA IV, there were over 100 enterable outside missions, though this included multiple subway stations, restaurants, apartment stairwells that are or seem repetitive. It should be noted the GTAV safehouses are far, far more elaborate than safehouses in any previous GTA, especially compared to Niko's one-room apartments of IV. That's just an example. All the interiors look really great. I think the interior detail of L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3 made Rockstar North raise its game on interior quality if not quantity. If you think of the whole game as a painting, how many brush strokes are in it? A lot more than any previous game.
Tracksuit Hitman
There'll be more interiors on GTAOnline. You need to wait. aka geobst

The interiors & especially all the objects (movable & physics based) reminded me a lot of MP3. I'd love to see a full list of these objects (which must be in the thousands), everything from Lester's crutches in his safehouse, to dumpsters. I don't know why, but I find that one of the most impressive things about Rockstar's third person HD games. I think they have added the most to the open source Bullet Physics library. The Sullinator
Those of you who are saying those enterable interiors serve no purpose though, it does serve a purpose. You could use it for running from the cops. Roleplaying. Those who makes videos and stories on Youtube. All kinds of things. Or simply exploring? Hiding easter eggs? OGLuke
they should've at least kept the mission interiors open for shootouts and ditching cops.

Dope_0110
I agree I thought GTA4 was a bigger step up from 3 then this is from 4. JMO though. Well duh... of course IV was a bigger step from the whole 3D generation than V is from IV. IV was the first one on this generation of console for f*cks sake. V is still on the same consoles as IV, what did you expect.

Although NOWHERE NEAR the level of detail as in V Parachuting: San Andreas, and Ballad of Gay tony Blimps: You serious? GTA San Andreas had the hunter helicopter....... See what I did thar? Golf: San Andreas had Basket ball Tennis: San Andreas had the gym Customizing cars: San Andreas Driving Physics: All GTA games improved on the driving physics so this isnt really applicable Dog Ownership: GTA IV had bowling (Dunno if V has it but ive played it for around 20 hours and not experienced it) boom

Vamp 1911
Gta v is not as revolutionary as what iv was in its time GTA IV was not that great for the time. The game had very little except missions and those bloody phone calls. I was playing Oblivion and Fallout 3 by the end of 08, open world games that leave plain old number 4 for dead. I still enjoy IV, though. It has a certain charm. Kind of like a first girlfriend. GTA 3 was a revolution for the time.
